I have just had my car in to Ruder's to check on a mysterious problem. Because I don't know much about cars (and because I'm female, ok) it would be very easy to take advantage of me. I appreciate that the mechanics at Ruder's ask me intelligent questions, explain their reasoning, don't talk down to me, and in this case especially, don't try to charge me a lot of money for an easy fix. I left my car there for convenience and was impressed that they looked at it right away and called me promptly.
Their prices for standard maintenance procedures seem reasonable as well.
It remains to be seen if their diagnosis is correct, but since they have made me feel comfortable and safe I am more likely to go back.
