Ruckersville Veterinary Clinic

I brought my fiv positive cat into this hospital yesterday morning. I had been to the emergency clinic on Greenbrier the Saturday evening before because my cat became quite ill and was in distress. At the emergency clinic they basically told me to "put him down" and at best, he only has a week to live. Of course this was after a 475.00 charge. As a last resort I took him to Ruckersville Animal Clinic expecting to hear the worst. Dr Robertson examined him and immediately put into action a plan. It was like watching an episode of "House". She did everything for us. She didnt rush us and ordered tests to determine exactly what the problem was so that we could treat the issue of what was making him so ill in the first place. Not only is this lady competent and efficient she truly loves animals. You can tell. I dont know if she will be able to save my cat however he does seem to be responding to the medications given. I am optimistic. The fees seem very reasonable as well. I highly recommend this hospital with all my heart. more

If I could own an Animal Hospital, this is exactly what I would want. Dr. Godine and everyone there showed remarkable compassion, and I really appreciated the opportunity to have the doctor use some laser to help with my pet. I am completely comfortable recommending this veterinary clinic to my friends. more

I think our dog (Bodie) enjoys the clinic more than home! We've been twice now for a round of important shots and check-ups, and the level of respect and professionalism we were met with on both occasions has been exceptional. The staff is informative, friendly and seems to truly care about the well being of our newest family member. They even called to check in when they noticed we had a late-night trip to an emergency animal hospital. Thanks for great service! more

I will never go to this vet.My 10 dogs and I will find another vet that knowes how to talk to people more

With most of my companion animals having some special need or another, I have been pleased with the care we have received from the vets & staff. The senior vet that we usually see is a no-nonsense, straight to the point fellow. Upon taking my youngest (golden lab) for her first visit to the above vet, he recommended that she NOT be re-tested for since her antibodies would still be present in her blood assay. I mention this because I have never come across anyone who would recommend not performing a test that would surely benefit their practice's income! This was not only a nice surprise but revealed good ethics! "Gracie", mentioned above had been returned to another city's SPCA a total of FOUR times & in between had to endure treatments which is NO picnic for those familiar with veterinary medicine. She has been a part of our family for over one year & the vets have made her transition much easier. On a sad note, the entire staff made the passing of our eldest dog (an 18 y/o chocolate lab) as comforting as they could this past July. For those of us in Northern Albemarle, I'd encourage a visit to this clinic! more
