We have visited Ruby River over 30 times over the past few years. It used to be our favorite restaurant in town.\r \r We have noticed over the past 3 or 4 visits that the quality and preparation of the food has gone from great to mediocre.\r \r It is not a bad place to eat but there are much better in town.\r \r Pros: Excellent Service, Country Western Decor Cons: Poor Food Quality more

a real disappointment 1/23/2009

we started with a salad, so-so, ordered a shrimp cocktail, took one bite and sent it back, the ribeye was good, but the place had no class at all. a real disappointment. whould not go back. more

Great steaks with excellent service 2/17/2005

During the 5 years we have lived in the Reno area we have never been disappointed in a meal at Ruby River. We take all our out-of-town guests there. Oftentimes we will split a meal and Ruby River is always accomodating. We very rarely go anywhere else for a great steak. Our favorite: bacon-wrapped filet mignon. MY FAVORITE STEAKHOUSE IN TOWN 1/6/2003

Great food, the best service, nice atmosphere, and absolutely ice-cold beer. Need I say more? All right I will. I originally went to dine here simply because I had received a gift certificate. I was reluctant to go even for free because on the outside the place looks very generic. It was a Tuesday night and the place was packed, which I found to be very strange. By the time I was walking out, I knew exactly why it was so busy. Its not a low budget place but if you have a special occasion or just enjoy blowing some cash on a great meal, I would give it a try. more

Absolutely the best steakhouse in town 9/5/2002

No questions asked, this is the very best steakhouse in Reno. Not cheap, but very, very good. Casual atmosphere, excellent steak and seafood. Pros: excellent food, decent parking Cons: a little pricey more
