Not sure what has happened with Ruby River. My family has been there many times but when we stopped in Sunday the 23rd we where in for a surprise. I understand that Sunday may not be a busy day and as a result the restaurant may not be at full staff. But when customers walk in the front door, they don't expect to wait for 10 minutes. When busy this is understandable. But when we walked in we could see three employees standing at a table talking, 2 more employees off to our right standing around joking, and one person that seemed to be wiping down a table. To my surprise the person that was wiping down the table (the only one that seemed to be working) was also the hostess. To continue the night our appetizer was poor and cold. Not to mention Calamari should not be served with ketchup. When we informed our waiter (Blake) about the cold food he just turned and walked away. Our main dish came out cool, and the food was under cooked. Also found hair in our sons dinner. After 3 different complaints the manager didn't even take the time to talk with us. Short story long, we will never eat there again. more

Best Steak in Sandy 7/27/2010

We went to the Ruby River in jordan commons before a soccer game at Rio Tinto and had a great time.\r \r The server Casie took great care of us and made sure we got what we wanted. It was nice that they had a full bar. You got to try there River Tea! tow of thoes and we were set before the game.\r For dinner I had the Ribeye steak and it was the best steak I have had in a long time. \r For dessert the server told us about the cookie. We were all ready full but it sounded so good so we got it anyways. It was cooked fresh to order and had icecream on top. We didn't finish it cause it was so big. you have to try it.\r If your ever in sandy going to a game or movie you have to try this place. JordanFly Pros: Steaks, Seafood and drinks more

Ruby River has gone WAY downhill! 3/26/2010

Went for dinner yesterday. The restaurant smelled bad, the salad was slimy, and the steaks looked and tasted horrible. yuck yuck yuck more

One of the best steaks I've ever had. 1/13/2005

We had the cheese fries to start off. $6.25. A hearty portion of fries with melted cheddar jack cheese and bacon crumbles. The fry sauce that came with the dish was very good! My wife had the angel hair primavera which is a light tomato sauce with angel hair pasta and fresh veggies. The pasta was cooked al dente like it should be. The cauliflower appeared to be raw but the broccoli and other veggies were cooked just right. $11.99 I had the 12oz New York Cut, cooked medium. I was brought a well-done sirloin. The server took back the sirloin and brought me the NY Cut. It was amazing! Juicy, tender, thick, full of flavor. Honestly, one of the best tasting steaks I have ever had, and I'm a meat & potatoes guy. $17.99 The total bill came to $44.68 plus an $8.00 tip for a total of $52.68. Pros: great steak, hearty portions, menu selection more

Above average across the board 5/31/2003

I've dined at other Ruby River locations. The Jordan Commons location has been good but not as good as other locations. I've been several times and found the server staff rather slow, the food not as warm, and the overall atmosphere louder. Still good quality but other locations are better. Pros: GREAT location, nice selection Cons: Noisy, rather expensive, slow servers more
