I have been using them for years. I think they are good with the dogs. Their prices have gone up over double what I used to pay and way more than good local competitors. I only us...

Only boarding I use 10/31/2013

I tried many other places to board our dog. In the other places, my dog would come back anxious and would sleep for 2 days straight. At Royalton, it is as if he never left home. It is the only place where he runs to the door wanting to get into his room. After 5 days of boarding, the dogs also get a free bath and come back with a cute little bow. more

ATTENTION TO DETAIL 10/23/2013

We've been clients at Royalton Kennels for almost 10 years. As with any service related business we've seen many employees come and go. Some we've missed greatly and others just weren't the right fit. The thing that has NOT changed over the years is their HIGH LEVEL OF SERVICE and ATTENTION TO DETAIL! They hold each and every staff member to the same high expectations. Each dog is treated like they are family. The bottom line in a facility like this is the staff. Doesn't matter how pretty, cute or colorful the place is, what matters is that they LOVE YOUR DOG and make sure he is safe and well cared for! That's what has made us come back over and over for almost a decade! Our little fluffball will be back again very soon! more

The staff are friendly 10/14/2013

I take Freddie to this place when I go on vacation and for day care every now and then. The staff are friendly and I always come back to find him well taken care of . They have really helped me out on a couple of occasions when I have needed to go out of town for work at the last minute, which has been a life saver. I give them 5 stars. more

I highly recommend this great place! 10/7/2013

My dog Maxx had stayed at Royalton about 3 times. I have a very energetic and big dog that loves staying there. The staff takes their time evaluating your dog for proper placement in the play groups. Dogs of similar size and energy level are play together. I feel very confident in the staff's ability to care for my dog. He stayed once for a week so our family could go on vacation and be assured that our pet would be cared for. The staff is wonderful and you can tell that they love dogs! I highly recommend this great place! more

The staff are friendly and helpful 9/9/2013

Our lab/terrier mix puppy Sonny is about 4 months old and has been attending doggy day care at Royalton Kennels several days/week for about one month since his adoption from the City of Philadelphia shelter. We were very impressed with the facility and Sonny is happy and well cared for. The staff are friendly and helpful and love our adorable little pup. We think the facility is great and I hope other readers will check it out themselves more

I have been using Royalton Kennels for the past 6 years for our beloved Bichon Frise. We have used Royalton Kennels for extended use of time being gone 7+ days. We haven't ever had a problem and have always been happy with their service. They have a variety of activities that are in addition to the boarding fee in which to choose from. My Bichon Frise also has to have medication and I didn't have to worry about my dog, she was well taken care of... Give them a try, the owners of Royalton Kennels are very helpful and will do whatever is possible to help make your pets stay a comfortable one. more

Royalton Kennels offer a full line of grooming for all dog breeds – and cats too! Our state-of-the-art bathing system offers a hydro-massage for your pet while cleaning their coat and skin. All baths include nail trims, ear cleaning and expressing the anal glands. Long haired pets are styled and blown dry. No day at the spa is complete without cologne, a bandanna or bows and lots of TLC. We believe that a clean pet is a healthy and happy pet. Hal and Ellen Kapen are from the New York City area. They were both active in the medical field in New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA. In 1988, they retired to Louisville, KY area to open Royalton Kennels, a five acre dog paradise in Fern Creek. The Kapens have had family pets since 1970 and acquired their first “show dog” in 1982. They have been showing their Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1983 in AKC conformation and obedience events. One of their dogs was the #1 Ridgeback in conformation events in the United States in 1990. They are active members of the Louisville Kennel Club, the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States, and the American Boarding Kennel Association. 15,000 square feet, We provide both indoor/outdoor runs as well as a state of the art indoor facility with radiant heated floors, Cat condos, Largest runs in Louisville, Air-conditioned and Heated for a climate controlled environment, Calming, easy listening music played throughout facility to soothe your pets, Owners live on premises.
