Originally distributor-consignees for Associated Oil and later Phillips Petroleum Company, the founders joined together to create Royal Petroleum Company in 1975 when Phillips was forced to divest its West Coast distribution system. At the time of incorporation, the Company registered the then unused 'Flying A' trademark ( formerly of San Francisco J. Paul Getty's Associated Oil Company ) as its logo. Since inception, Royal Petroleum has remained in the family of the original founders.Royal Petroleum has developed a reputation for unparalleled customer attention. Because of the superior customer service, dairymen, construction, commercial, landscape contractors, nurserymen, drayage, lumber and freight haulers, electrical contractors, charter bus service, government agencies, police, fire, and sheriff departments, municipal water districts, ambulance service agriculture, commercial vineyards and vineyard management companies, and garbage companies all use Royal PetroleumRoyal Petroleum has also developed a reputation with local governmental agencies as an environmentally sensitive and responsible distributor of petroleum products.Royal Petroleum employs 31 people and is managed by Clif Hill and Jim Dalton. Royal's delivery vehicles are equipped with an advanced security system that incorporates location information through the Global Positioning System ( GPS ). Jim and Clif have introduced automated software to increase the Company's capacity to serve their customers.Royal Petroleum's measured growth plan includes the provision for adding to the company's current network of commercial fueling sites at several locations throughout their operating area. The first of these became operational in late October 2004.. Public
