I finally got to play in Scotland!! sort of... 3/2/2012

I got a recommedation to play this course through the Mandalay Bay Concierge in Las Vegas. Apparently they get discounted rates with this particular golf course and its 2 other sister courses (Bali Hai and Desert Pines). I decided to go with Royal Links. Upon my arrival, we had to go through these huge iron gates and then got dropped off at the clubhouse, which by the way, is an actual Scottish Castle! The staff was very friendly and more than accomodating to my needs. Ask for Nacho, by far the best Bartender/Server I have ever encountered at a Clubhouse restaurant ever! Now for the course. If you've ever watched the British Open, you should be familiar with their signature holes. By far my Favorite is the Par 3 Postage Stamp. Only because to the left of the green, is this deep, deep bunker. Standing in it, I couldn't even see over the top of the bunker. They also have a replica of the ""Road"" hole from St. Andrews, minus the buildings surrounding it. I also enjoyed the rolling fairways and challenging greens. Best part about it is....There are no water hazards! I don't know about you, but for some reason, water really messes with my game mentally...I can keep going on and on about this place, but if you can't afford to play in Scotland, play the Royal Links in Las Vegas. I am definitely going to go back there each time I visit. I'm having withdrawals now just thinking about it. :) more

Amazing Golf Course - One of Vegas' Best! 3/24/2010

If you love the game of golf, this is a must-play course!! This course will test every club in your bag. The course was in amazing condition when we played on March 18, 2010. For those of you not familiar with Royal Links it is a collection of the best holes of the British Open rotation courses, and that it is! It has golf's most famous holes - ""The Road Hole"", ""Hell Bunker"" and ""The Postage Stamp"" to name a few! This course was awesome! Highly recommended! I look forward to playing it again soon! Pros: very unique, great conditions, great value! more

Play the best UK golf in one day! 10/9/2007

What a great concept...all the most memorable holes from the rotation of British Open courses in one 18 hole set-up! My buddy and I started of the afternoon having a great lunch at the club house. We were on the first hole in the early afternoon and were really happy with the set up, pace of play and the maintenance of the course. Why go to Scotland and play in the wind, rain and cold when you can play the Road Hole in sunny Las Vegas?!?!? Pros: Great Set-Up, Pace of Play, Maintenance more

no big deal 10/19/2002

super rip off. SANDY greens. interesting holes-but not suprising since they are based on other known holes. course conditions mediocre. staff professional, clubhouse nice. but in general they should be ASHAMED to charge this much given the course conditions. more

Royal links - bring your crown 6/1/2002

Interesting change of pace for golfers that would like to experience links style golf. Has several memorable holes including a replica of the St Andrews ""Road Hole"" (#17). Very expensive course with mandatory caddy (even if you get a cart as well) so expect to pay $300+ for a round. Cheaper than flying to Scotland I suppose.... Conditioning of greens and fairways is below what one would expect for this type of outlay. Several of the par 4's are particularly challenging and they are mixed well with short par fours that are practically driveable. Good day out --- but pricey. I'd rate it in the top 5 of places in Vegas to play. Pros: memorable, interesting layout Cons: expensive, condition only fair more

Owner Message
  • Royal Links was built to honor the rich history and tradition of the game of golf. Designed by Dye International, this links-style course features holes inspired by eleven different British Open rotation courses, including the "Road Hole" and "Hell Bunker" from the old course at St. Andrews and the "Postage Stamp" from Royal Troon. Other courses in the loop include Carnoustie, Turnberry, Royal Liverpool, Prestwick, Royal Lytham, Muirfield and Royal Birkdale.

Monuments were erected at various locations throughout the golf course indicating the spots where great moments in British Open history took place. A Champions Wall is erected near the all-turf practice range honoring American champions of the British Open

Golfers may choose to engage the services of a professional forecaddie adding to the "Scottish" experience. These forecaddies are knowledge about the history of each hole, as well the location of the 108 pot bunkers, some of which are hidden. Walking caddies are also available and are required for those who choose to walk.

Royal Links was recognized as the "Best Course in Las Vegas" in the 2006 Review Journal 'Best Of Vegas" poll and one of "America's Best Courses" by GolfWeek.

Located less than 20 short minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, the castle-style clubhouse hosts a nationally recognized Golf Shop, which was ranked as one of "American's Best 100 Golf Shops" in 2004 & 2005 by GolfWorld Business. It is stocked with name brand apparel, equipment, quality art and collectable's. The shop also offer rentals of latest Callaway Clubs - Razr X and FootJoy shoes

Also within the authentic castle-style clubhouse is Stymie's Pub, an authentic re-creation of an isle pub complete with antiques and serving traditional fare like fish and chip and bangers, as well as breakfasts, salads and sandwiches. On-course beverage cart service is also available. An English style call box is available at the 9th tee providing golfers the opportunity to order lunch as they make the turn, or to have lunch delivered to them on the course.

To add a little gaming excitement to the round, Royal Links offers a "Beat The Pro" challenge for all golfers who can test their skill against course personnel on a Par 3 closest to the hole contest for merchandise credit in the golf shop.

Royal Links Golf Club is also home to the beautiful ParMates - a female caddy service that was designed to add a unique extra experience to your round of golf.. Envision your group being greeted by an authentically clad Bagpipe player as they pull up to castle-style clubhouse only minutes from the Strip in the middle of Las Vegas.
