I was recomended by a freind, their food is excellent. If you ever passing by just jump in to the restaurant and ask for their LAMB SHAHI KORMA with PESTO NAN bread.\r

This place was a total ripoff, and the food sucked!\r The food was way overcooked, they gave us a dinner menu at 1:30 in the afternoon, there was no spice in the food that we requested to be ""medium spice,"" they charged $3 for rice that was supposed to come with the meals!, their entree prices were HIGH ($16 for one), then they also overcharged for other things on the menu!! The extra rice charge, a dollar more for an entree, a dollar more for the naan. VERY DISHONEST PEOPLE AND THE FOOD IS BAD. I would never go there again and recommend that no one waste their time or money at that place. Oh, and they also would not honor the Entertainment Book coupon!! Bottom of the barrel as far as restaurants go. Bad service, too. Never asked how the meal was, offered anything else. I think they took old food that had been sitting around all day and gave that to us. Dry, tasteless. more

Take a close look at your bill! 9/14/2008

We were there a few years ago, and when it came time to return my change, I was shorted $5!\r \r When asked about it, the server acted like he was caught trying to get away with something - I believe I was working with the owner!\r \r The food was good - but the deal with the bill was bizarre.... never dealt with anything like that before in any restaurant. Extra charge for side orders and dishonoring the coupons 12/20/2007

I was there recently on December 7th friday night with a 7$ off coupon. When the mangement discover that I have a 7$ off coupon,they charged me extra for the rice. Where by menu says all the main dishes are served with rice, this attitude have extreamly disappointed me. I want to ask the management why do they do that? if they want to charge extra for rice then please stop adverting the coupons, stop cheating customers and try honoring the coupons accordingly more

Dishonest staff - Ripped off 11/25/2007

I went there a few days ago. the only reason i went there was that i had a coupon from ENTERTAINMENT book which they told me that they wont accept it that day ???- anyways food was OK. when the bill was given to us it seemed like a little more than expected, when i paid they charged my credit card more than what was on the bill (3-4 dollars) ??? when i told them they charged me wrong amount, they said they didnt and then they showed me a totally different bill ??? - we were the only people there and there was no chance that it would be someone else's bill.. very DISHONEST people. i would never go there again!!!! Rip-off artists! 9/8/2006

While the food and atmosphere is good at Royal India, their dishonesty detracts from the entire dining experience. They regularly charge extra for rice, which is supposed to be included with dinner entrees and jack up the general cost of the meal in any way they can..... including keeping the wait staff's tips. This I know, because my daughter was a waitress there, and never received her tips.... only to be told several weeks down the road that she would not be receiving her tips. Also, recently when I ordered food there and used a coupon, I tallied the amount that should've been owed before going in.... the overall bill was 10.00 more than it should have been. (Adding in the rice and taking out only 7.00 for an entree, although my cheapest entree was 10.95). I like their food and it's convenient for takeout, but we go there less and less..... they rip people off! more

I agree with the bill scam! The food is good, but they change the amount in the bill. We ordered stuffed naan and curries. The total was about $5 more than it should have ben, but I thought I remembered the price in the menu wrong. The waiter was hiding the amount of each food at the casher. I thought it was kinda strange. But I think I was right. Be sure to check your bill before you pay!! Yeah, they added additional rice charge even though all the curries come with rice. Quiet, very good food, great service, atmosphere is so-so 8/17/2006

We arrived at 7pm on a Thursday and there was only one other table in use. It's in a mini-mall type area next to a bar that had a good collection of smokers outside. The table was rickety.\r \r That being said, the food was very good and the service was great - not expensive, either. If you can get past the asthetics it's a good place. Great Food, but be sure to check your bill! 6/20/2006

I have been to Royal India twice and both times the food was fantastic! \r \r The first time we sat in the tent, which has a beautiful ambiance. We ordered two entrees, an order of bread, and an Indian beer, which the waiter recommended. When we received the bill they had added rice for a $3 charge. We did receive rice with our meal, but on the menu it says that this is included with the meal. Also, the Indian beer that was 'recommended' tasted like Budweiser and cost $7. \r \r The second time we visited we asked to sit in the tent but one person said it would be an additional $10 charge and another said is would be an additional $20 charge (they need to get their story straight). This seemed strange because on our last visit there was no charge mentioned to us. This time we ordered three entrees and two sides of bread. The rice charge appeared on our bill again. When we mentioned it to the server she removed it without a question (I think this is a scam). On this visit we also had an entertainment book coupon that says up to a $13 value, but the server said this is wrong and it is only up to a $10 value. Kind of questionable if you ask me. more

Great Ambiance 6/5/2005

I recently visited the restaurant. I have to say they have done a great job. They redecorated with a tented area in the restaurant. The tent has low seating and is for large parties of 4 or more. I took a peak as it wasnt finished and it looks like ure in a moroccan tent. The food is always great but the decor gives the restaurant a great new look. They will also start hookah smoking outdoors by mid june and belly dancing. They have a new menu coming out as told by the owner. I love the food presently and cant wait for some of their new entrees. A restaurant to definately visit with large groups. Pros: Decor, Food more

Great restaurant 4/7/2005

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times and I always walk out very satisfied by the food and service. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have heard they are renovating the restaurant. The owners daughter told me they would be starting regular belly dancing performances as well as musical evenings. They are also making arrangements for outdoor seating and will be introducing bar-b-q nights. I personally cant wait for the changes to the restaurant. more

Wonderful!! 10/5/2004

I work on the Eastside, so I have only been for lunch, but I can't say enough about their buffet. It is the best I've ever had. I actually don't bother going to other Indian buffets now since I end up being disappointed I am not at Royal India. This is a great place to go for lunch. It is never crowded, lots of parking, the food is always fresh and the owner is wonderful. Very often he will bring over Chai Tea or mango ice cream for us to have on the house. I have not been to a restaurant with better service. Don't miss it!! Pros: Great Food, Great Service more

We frequent this restaurant for it's lunch buffet ($7 and can't be beat) because we like to pick and choose our foods...a litttle of this and lot of that! If you get there when the food on the buffet is fresh, it can't be beat by any other restaurant on the Eastside! But while the food is wonderful (the rice pudding with rosewater will make you want to cry, it's so good), it is the sheer graciousness and wamth of the owner that keeps us coming back. Recently, because of a holiday weekend, the lunch buffet was not up because the owner anticipated a slower business day. He insisted that we choose our three favorite things from the menu, and he not only had the kitchen prepare them for us, but charged us only the $7 buffet price. THE EASTSIDE COULD USE A LESSON IN SERVICE FROM THIS MAN. more
