I have visited Dr. Royal's office several times with both of my daughters and have been very pleased. The office staff is very professional and always willing to help. I drive 2 hours one way for her service because it is second to none. I have recommended her to others and they have experienced the same GREAT SERVICE! more

It is very hard to find a good dermatologist but I swear by Dr Laura Phiffer, I am african american and had been (noticed how I said had) suffering from severe acne upon giving birth 8 yrs ago and adult acne is the worst. I could not find anyone and like the previous review I went to another all african american office thinking that they obviously would know what to do with ""our"" skin but like the other reviewer five minutes one prescription and I was out of there....thisrepeated for close to a year. This past December I decided to venture out I just picked a random dermatologist in my network and ended up with Dr. Phiffer, she is WONDERFUL needless to say after one vist this past January (not 3-6mths later) I noticed results, she put me on an antibiotic, topical cream (differin) and a precription facial wash. I HAVE NOT HAD A PIMPLE SINCE NOT EVEN A HEAT BUMP. I will definitely recommend her to everyone I meet. more

I realize after reading some of the other reviews from other offices that Richmond is in desperate need of some good dermatologists. I went to Royal Dermatology for my persistent acne and I was expecting something a lot better. After trying dozens of over the counter ""cures"" I knew I had to seek professional help so I scheduled the appointment and 3 months later I came into the office very optimistic. (I mean, waiting 3 months has to count for something right??) Well, to say the least, it was very sub-par. I saw the doctor for 5 minutes max after we were basically escorted out of the building...she didn't even look at my face just wrote up a prescription for another topical treatment I knew wasn't going to work. A few months later we had our follow up appointment and that went just as well. My acne was still there and to top it off, the doctor just wrote me up another prescription for THE SAME topical treatment...well it's been over a month since my last appointment and I'm still using the prescription they gave me and it HAS NOT worked in the least. I'm very disappointed at how these doctors treat their patients, it seems like they are just in it for the money and their patients problems don't concern them at all. Well I can tell you they won't be getting any of my money anymore... more
