Royal Atlantic Beach Resort Hotel

I made reservations with the Royal Atlantic and sent my deposit for 735.00. Six days before we were to arrive my husband's mother passed away unexpectedly. I called to cancel as soon as I got home from the hospital. The Manager, Anthony, would only give back 50% of my deposit because the room did not rent. He told me ""he was meeting me half way!"" I cannot believe how insensitive, heartless, and greedy this establishment is. I asked for a credit for future use and was told no. I will never stay at this hotel and I have developed negative feelings toward Montauk in general, even though I have vacationed there for over 30 years. more

DO NOT GO!! The management is terrible, unorganized, sloppy, ignorant and does not care about the customer. I made reservations for a weekend in January, had plans to fly a friend out that weekend and everything. I took time off of work and when we got there, they said that they made a mistake and the person that booked it should have booked it for a 3 day weekend not a 2 day and that they would not be able to accommodate us. Such bulls*?!!\r \r We argued and argued and they refused to give me the name of a manager or call one or even give me the number to their management company so I can contact them.\r \r I later heard, that this establishment is undergoing lawsuits and have judgments against them. Oh and btw, they are not too quick to give you back your money too. I'm having my credit card company fight the charges!!\r Cons: The worst staff and management I've ever encountered and I've travelled the world. more

You'll have very nice time here. The price is a little high. But compared too it's neighbors, it's worth it!!!! . From a beach view , it is one of the best on the east coast Pros: Everthing Cons: Could use some upgrades more

I recently stayed at the Royal Atlantic for 4 nights with my husband and 2 kids. We had a great time. The location of this hotel is right on the beach. Our room had a beach view with a balcony right in the pool area. The pool area has tables, lounge chairs and a snack bar that serves drinks. You can walk right down to the beach from there. It was great. The rate included breakfast which was a great way to start the day. The service was good considering it's peak season and there were lots of people there. I think they were full. There was one afternoon that was overcast and we took the kids to the small arcade room by the front desk. That was a nice plus! I think we only had to use our car once during our stay because we wanted to see the Montauk lighthouse and also go to the harbor (not much there unless you are into boats). We were able to walk to restaurants, shops and anything else we needed right from the hotel. The only negative thing I can think of is that a hairdryer was not provided in the room. Yes, the rooms aren't 5 star but that would be hard to expect with such close proximity to the beach. The room was clean and comfortable and we really didn't spend much time in the room anyway! We really enjoyed our little vacation and plan on coming back next year! Pros: LOCATION CAN NOT BE BEAT! Cons: No hairdryer in room more
