Their website clearly stated on Monday June 28th that their Summer hours were from 7am - 6pm. I arrived at 5:02pm with a small trailer (1 axle) of yard debris expecting that I had plenty of time. As soon as I pulled in, a woman I can only assume was the manager or owner poked her head out of the trailer door and yelled out that they were closed. To which I responded that their website stated they were open until 6pm during the summer. She promptly stuck her head back in the trailer and relayed what I said to some other person. Some words were exchanged between her and this individual until she finally exclaimed ""well fix the website!"" to the unnamed person.
At this point she stuck her head back out of the trailer and asked some employees if they would be willing to stick around while I dumped my yard waste. They said yes, and she grudgingly told me I could go in after paying them fifteen dollars. I could tell she was really annoyed with me for keeping her past 5pm, but I had a load of yard waste and did not want to drive all the way home with it again. So I got out my checkbook to write them a check (they only take checks or cash), and I could really see her eyes light up. She had her way out.
As soon as I started writing the check she tells me that they can't take a check because the computer is shut down.
What? Let's completely forget for a minute that they had the WRONG information on their website, and that I drove fifteen miles with a trailer full of yard waste that I was going to give them money to take. I was floored... Who the heck needs a computer turned on to take a check? Retail and grocery stores I can believe. But a local 'mom and pop' dump? What do they need a computer fired up for...an Interpol check?! Just take my check and apologize for having the WRONG information on your website.
As far as I am concerned they get a complete and total FAIL on customer service. Go home and enjoy beer-thirty Ya'll....sorry I almost made you miss the first call for al-key-hol!!!
Cons: rude, unhelpful
