A true Charlotte gem! I could not be more shocked by the last two reviewers. My experience at Rountree has always been radically different and really wonderful. I too have fond memories of visiting Rountree as a child (and even running through the old greenhouses - I'm sure they really appreciated that!) It is a joy to be able to go back now with my own children to select plants for our vegetable garden and our porch. The staff are so knowledable and they give good advice on what will work in my yard. I don't have the greenest of thumbs, but I find gorgeous plants there everytime I go. In stark contrast to the reviewer that found the staff unacceptable my encounters with the staff have been great. I've returned merchandise that didn't do well and they were careful to help me troubleshoot the problem before replacing it so that I would be successful the next time around. I call that good customer service. Perhaps those other reviewers aren't accustomed to dealing with people who are truly invested in doing the job right. I can't deny that the prices at Rountree aren't the cheapest in town, BUT I can say for sure that you get what you pay for. I ran out of impantiens when planting this spring and ran to Lowes for one more flat. They were less expensive but they have not taken root as well and they have already fallen behind Rountrees plants. I'll post the picture of my walkway for proof. GO to Rountree Plantation!!! They are worth the trip. They support local products and I'll support them as a local business as long as we live here in Charlotte.
