I had been going to Genesis for annual check-ups for some time. However, since I became pregnant I have had nothing but problems there. First there are the 45 minute to 1 hour wait times. I even scheduled an appointment at 7:30 one morning, thinking that there would be nothing keeping them from seeing me on time if I were in the first slot of the day, but the office staff waited forty minutes before telling me I had to fill out paperwork before I could go back! When I complained (I did not use any harsh language, just asserted that the situation was a problem for me) the office manager blew me off, saying she wasn't going to blame anybody (re: we're not going to take any steps to improve service and see that this doesn't happen again). Once again I didn't get seen until an hour after my scheduled appointment and I was very late for work. At that same visit the Nurse Practitioner prescribed medication to me that was very closely related to one I had had a severe allergic reaction to in the past. The name of that medication was listed on both my new patient paperwork they had on file for years and the new pregnancy paperwork they had me fill out that same morning. If the nurse had checked it in the database she would have found this out before risking my health and the health of my baby. Luckily my Pharmacist caught it. Also be aware that if you are given an ultrasound there, they will run it over your belly for a minute or two and then do a more thorough trans-vaginal scan. In my case they could have determined what they needed to know (age of fetus) by only doing the trans-vaginal, but the nurse told me that it was their standard of care to do both. Then I was billed $500 for EACH, and my insurance company would only pay for one because only one was necessary. I called the billing department 5 days ago and so far they have not returned my call. I have since changed to another practice where I can tell they value their patients time and I am very happy there.
Cons: Rude and inefficient office staff, very long waits, did not check medication allergies
