When we moved to Long Island from the city last year I looked at a number of schools, but once I visited the coop I immediately knew it was the place for my child and our family. The director and teachers are extremely well educated in children's development and have created a warm, loving and respectful environment where the kids absolutely thrive. It is a play based program that instills a love of learning and strong sense of wonder and exploration in the children. The activities are really thoughtfully planned and expose the kids to so many different aspects of our world-- books, music, dance and movement, nature, art, writing, cooking and science, languages & different world cultures and customs-- all in a very age appropriate way.\r \r My son has severe food allergies and the director and teachers have gone above and beyond to ensure that he is safe and feels included, whether it's during snack or an in class cooking project. Amazing community of teachers and families. It has lived up to and exceeded every expectation! more

The Roslyn Trinity Coop has a special place in my heart, both of my children are currently attending, just as I did 30 years ago. At the Coop, the children learn through a hands on, developmental approach.....no dittos, no inappropriate handwriting lessons or computer games that are sold as education. The teachers are enthusiastic, hard working and committed. My daughter has developed a tremendous love for learning and exploring both inside and outside the classroom. The school is warm and inviting. There are 2 huge playgrounds, an indoor play gym with bikes and sand box, water tables and easels in the classroom, plenty of books, puzzles and manipulatives. What i love most is having the opportunity to participate in the classroom approximately once a month; i get to experience first hand all of the things that make my daughter and son's day so special! more

Best preschool on Long Island 3/23/2010

Both of my children have attended ""The Co-op"" and our experience has been wonderful. The teachers are top notch with many years of early childhood experience and the program is excellent. Focus on gaining social skills in a very child centered, nurturing and positive environment. They have 2 outdoor playground and an indoor basement playground for bad weather. We think it's the best preschool on Long Island!!! Pros: Nurturing, experienced & kind staff, great families more

Wonderful North Shore LI Preschool 3/22/2010

My children have been in 2s, 3s, 4s and summer program at the ""Co-op."" Amazing school that really focuses on the transition into the first school experience and then onto academic foundation building, while teaching and aiding your child with social development. Director, teachers and staff are wonderful and we have also made some wonderful parent friends that have similar expectations on child education. Core curriculum covers early reading skills, math skills as well as empasis on science and current events, all geared towards the childrens' age level. Plus lots of outdoor time to work on gross motor and fine motor development. They do yoga, as well as bring in Alvin Ailey Dance for a movement program which also emphasises cultural diversity. My kids smoothly transitioned into elementary school and are still loving to learn! Couldnt have asked for a better preschool! Pros: Teachers, Curriculum, Classrooms, Nurturing Environ. more

Top-Notch Preschool on LI 2/24/2010

As a parent of a child who has attended the school, the Roslyn Trinity Co-op has been a place where my son enjoyed going to school every single day. He was under the care of the most experienced, loving professionals who provided a fun and exciting environment for him to learn. He entered kindergarten this past year in a very competitive school district and his teacher was amazed at his readiness skills, and the way he can easily interact with both his peers and adults. Children that attend the Co-op truly enjoy school from the very beginning and that certainly carries through to elementary. Pros: nurturing environment, smart curriculum, parent involvement Cons: not a one more
