Lake Roslyn has been drained by PGE, and the dikes have been torn down. The property has been siting idle since then, and lots of cottonwood trees are growing in the former lakebed. BUT... there is one interesting item of note... the Oregon Zoo is in process of purchasing a large portion of the property, and make it a large Elephant habitat, where elephants can roam the countryside. So, next time you are in the neighborhood, you may soon hear elephants trumpeting. more

A Place for Fun and Frolic 2/27/2006

Roslyn Lake Park is a surprise getaway tucked into the hills around the Sandy area. We found it by mistake the first time on a relaxing country drive and have been back many times since. Owned by PGE, it offers a beautiful man-made lake with boating and swimming. Many picnic tables to choose from along with large grass areas for playing. Perfect for a romantic couple activity or company picnic. On your way in, be sure to look for the log barrier by the entrance for the intricate wood carvings designed by a local artist. They are worth a peek, but don’t block traffic! more
