Ok so me and my friend went to rosies to find a prom dress. They had pretty good dresses. good selection just not a good set up at all. And the sells lady ( some blonde chick) was very rude. She hoovered over us. told us wronge sizes and complanded alot. We were achully rushed out. So i think they had a good selection of dresses they just needed to lay off , not rush people and remodel there store. more

I went there last year, as a freshman, for my prom dress, and since then have been so excited to go back every year! Although going to prom all four years of high school is exciting, it's even more exciting to know where you'll be getting your dress! I was stuck between two dresses and i stayed in a dress for almost an hour. Before buying it, the sales ladies all were coming up to me telling me how great i looked in it, and made sure i didn't need anything. Very nice! Although, there was a spot where the seam had separated a little, though you couldn't tell unless you got up close. They wouldn't take any off the price for that. But, it ended up being a reasonable price anyway. They're very helpful, and i ended up with a beautiful dress. Can't wait to go back! more

I purchased my wedding dress from Rosies in 1991 and will be taking my step-daughter there this Friday to buy her SENIOR Prom dress. My mom and I have both purchased gowns from there in the past and have always been well pleased with the selection and prices offered @ Rosie's.. I am looking sooo foward to passing down a family tradition when we go there this Friday. Can't wait to see Rosies curteous and friendly staff again and getting a wonderful bargain on a beaurtiful gown!!!! Pros: excellent selection,prices,and helpful staff more

First of all, I can't imagine traveling 2,000 miles to go to any dress shop unless you're shopping couture. Something doesn't add up there. The shop is NOT in a ""bad area"" of town - it is off the service road to the highway in an basic building that is crammed to the ceiling with all kinds of dresses, from sexy to very conservative. Mobile is a HUGE formal wear market, thanks to our profusion of Mardi Gras balls (plus the balls in New Orleans) so the inventory at Rosie's turns over often. I can't imagine anyone saying that the dresses are from the 70s - that's just bunk. In the few weeks after Mardi Gras, the selection is probably slimmer since Jan-Feb are the big months for dress shopping. Also, the building doesn't smell at all - that's just silly. It is just a no-frills, low ceiling building with several large rooms and fluorescent lights. It's not Kleinfelds but you're not paying the overhead for a fancy dressing room and silk curtains either, know what I mean? I have bought 2 dresses from them and both times were a delight. I'm almost 40, so I don't want something that makes me look like a floozy prom queen OR like my grandmother. I also am rather picky about fabric - it's getting harder and harder to find a silk gown instead of poly or rayon. Both times, I have been able to find really elegant beaded gowns that are age appropriate AND made out of silk. The first one was around $175, the second was $150. Try finding those prices on any of the online bridal/formal ""superstores."" They have huge selections in all kinds of sizes - remember that formal wear is usually several sizes above your regular sizes so a lot of us move up into ""plus"" sizes. I have probably looked at over 100 dresses online, but have found exactly the perfect dress at Rosie's instead. Both times I have been there, the service has been excellent and friendly. I'm sure when the shop is packed with people wanting to try on multiple dresses, the staff can't give everyone as much attention but they are still nice. They are polite but candid - if you ask them what they think, they will tell you. Frankly, I'd rather have the lady at the shop tell me to go buy myself some control top panty hose than to go out looking all bulgy, right?? The stock is geared towards beaded gowns and ball/evening gowns. The selection of wedding gowns probably isn't as large as a traditional bridal store, so if you're in the market for bridal you might need to search a little (although they do have nice gowns there, don't get me wrong). But for formal wear (and I HAVE shopped in Baltimore, New York and Atlanta) Rosie's can't be beat. Pros: Large selection, helpful staff, ever-changing inventory Cons: Wish they carried spanx and other control garments! more

My daughter and I traveled almost 2000 miles round trip to visit this store and to our disappointed it was a wasted trip. The building was run-down and in a horrible part of town. We were suspicious when we pulled up and there were bars on the windows. We entered the building and felt as if someone had punched us in the stomach. It was so disapointing! The inventory was from the 70's or 80's, and the place smelled horribly. To top it all off the girl who helped us was so rude!! My daughter was so gracious through the whole thing and took two dresses to the dressing room just to appear interested. At one point during the trying on of the dresses, the salesgirl picked up my daughter's arm and threw it out of the way. She hurt my daughter's arm. The owner insisted my daughter try on a veil even though my daughter said she didn't want a veil. The woman forced the veil onto my daughter's head. We left after these two incidents. The whole experience is one that we will never forget. Cons: Bad part of town; very outdated inventory; rude salespeople more

I have been to Rosies two times and everytime it was awful. The employees there are rude and they treat you like you have a disease when you touch there formals.I also find it rude when you can not look at a dress by yourself, most people do not want someone breathing down there back at all times. Lord help you if you bring a child in there to look at childrens formals because you can not even move because the reps are all over you.Rosies has lost of buisness from me because I buy about 12 to 15 formals a year and I will pay the extra money to go somewhere you can shop alone and get help when asked.I am a 35 year old woman and I know how to handle myself and my kids while I am shopping.Rosies should work on there personalities. more

I stopped at Rosie's (first time there) to find a ball gown for our Army ball that we have coming up in a few weeks! I was so lucky to have gone in on a day that I was able to meet Rosie herself (quite possibly one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met). Besides their UNBEATABLE selection of gowns, dresses, jewelry, etc, their customer service is comparable to NONE I have ever experienced before! I have been looking for a ball gown for 2 months now. With no luck finding a dress and only finding very rude people that didn't care anything about me or my occasion, I cannot even begin to explain how elated I was (and still am) to have found Rosie and her team! I felt like a bride, all attention was on me! It was amazing. These people cared not only what I looked like and how they treated me, but they geniunely cared about me. Honestly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Rosie and her staff! You will be nothing but happy with your business there!! I am STILL smiling 3 days later!!! And not only did I find a dress for the ball....I walked away with 4 DRESSES!!! haha. And plan to go back for many, many more! Oh and can't forget to mention...not only was their selection and service impeccable, their prices??? UNBEATABLE!!! I got 4 dresses (by TOP designers, exactly what I wanted) and jewelry for UNDER what I was looking at just ONE gown for at other stores!!! Please, do yourself a favor and go straight to Rosie's!!! You will NEVER regret it!!! Pros: everything! selection! service! location! Cons: absolutely NOTHING! more

There is really nothing more that you can ask for in a Bridal/Formalwear shop. The owner is so sweet, her employees are VERY VERY helpful. They devote EVERY bit of their attention to you like you are the ONLY person in the shop. The outside may not appear that wonderful but trust me it is a great place. I purchased all my prom dresses from them and went wedding dress shopping a few weeks back and DO intend to buy my wedding gown from there as well. Both of my prom dresses were under $150 and every wedding gown i seen was under $400.. most were $399 and didn't see anything over. They also carry a wide range of sizes 0-30something i think.... :) good luck.. and look here first i promise you will not be disappointed!!!! Pros: everything is a pro Cons: there ARE none!!! more
