Rosie McCann’s Irish Pub and Restaurant is a favorite spot among the locals. It’s a relaxing place, where you can sit back and savor a hearty meal and wash it all down with pint of your favorite ale. The staff is friendly and attentive and the prices are reasonable. This probably isn’t your “pint o’ Guinness” if you’re looking for a hot spot to meet chicks. But if you want a good meal of Irish stew or bangers and mash and a comfortable pub setting to enjoy the evening with friends, Rosie McCann’s is the place to be- and that's no blarney! more

Good place for a dinner out. During the weekdays this place is fairly quiet. The ambiance is a little subdued with low lights and the walnut wood booths and floors. They have excellent food though, ranging from Shepherd's Pie to Pesto Pasta. I tend to rave about their pesto- creamy, delicious and well seasoned it is a treat any night of the year. And it is served in such large portions that you don't have to plan for lunch the next day. A good bar, but as a previous reviewer said, a little pricy. more

my only complaint about rosie's is that it always seems to be a little too loud, even during dinner. but the food is great, and it's somewhere you can go for a 'nicer' dinner, but still get all the pub food you love. the bar is good, but expensive. they have darts and pool, and also have a dj on weekends and maybe even some week nights. more

Casual Dining and Quiet Atmosphere 8/17/2005

I have been to Rosie's a few times since I moved to Santa Cruz. The first night that I went there were quite a few people at the bar, a few at the seated dining area, and one person in the very small dance area. Most often, the atmosphere is very quiet making it the perfect place for a date or chatting with friends. On weekends, it is more packed and there are more people on the small dance floor where there is usually a DJ spinning popular music. more

This Irish Pub is located on Pacific on the second floor, above Costa Brava. This is one of the few bars besides the Catalyst that offers a dance floor and music for people to dance. This bar has some of the best quality beer in the downtown area, and also has a restaurant area. more
