Not only do the local residents of KC claim that Rosdale's is the best, but they've also won several city awards for their food from the KC Star. It doesn't matter what you get there, it's good, filling, and worth coming back again for more. Sunday's special, baby back ribs, is a tradition for many people. But if you're in your Sunday best, get plenty of napkins, because they are MESSY. Though I love everything I've tried at this place, the one plate that stands out to me is a ""Half Bird with Fries"" (smoked, barbeque chicken with bread and crinkle fries). The food is great, and worth coming for, but the sauce is what makes it an experience. Personally, I'm a huge fan of BBQ sauces, and Rosedale's has a very unique, sweet'n'spicy sauce. I buy it by the quart to use at home for my own smoked BBQ meats. It's good enough to use in place of ketchup as well, and tastes a lot like spicy, homemade Catsup from the south. Rosedale sells dinners- about 1/2 Lb of smoked meat with THREE sides for less than $6 that would cost over $13 anywhere else. That's right, just yesterday I got great smoked Turkey, delicious BBQ Beans, Potato Salad and those awesome crinkle-cut Fries for $5.75, that would be $13.50 elsewhere. Generally the dinners come with Cole Slaw, but I tell 'em ""No Slaw, make it Salad"" and they make it happen. The sauce has an almost cinnamon spice to it that makes it unique, and my favorite. I keep a quart in the Fridge, but get to the restaurant when I can for the full experience. Yeah, I love this place. They ask you right when you walk in what you want, unless there's a line, so try to be ready. Pros: Cheap, Excellent Food, Immediate Service Cons: Can get Crowded, Know what you want more

If you've ever had home-made ketchup you can taste the similarity with this BBQ sauce. Has that same sort of homemade ketchupy taste, yet its a thin but sweeter sauce than the Big 3 Joints of AB's, Gates & Zarda. Rosedales is another wrinkle in the KC tradition. Good food and CHEAP too. A bit different flavor in the KC sauce tradition but the meat quality is still there. However, lunchtime is always crowded. Guess they need to add another new addition? I live in Blue Springs and drive to get Rosedale's every chance I get. Their french fries are awesome, the bbq beef on bread is the best I've ever had.
