The ribs are to die for fall off the bone goodness fries always hot and fresh , you can't go wrong here , cheesy bake is a real treat , the ham sandwich and chicken are killer. Go hungry leave happy.... more

GREAT BBQ! 6/8/2011

IM THE OFFICE MGR. @ LATE MODEL AUTO IN NORTHEAST. WE HAD LUNCH A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO AT ROSEDALES BBQ. THE STAFF WAS DISAPPOINTED AND I CALLED AND COMPLAINED. THE MGR. FRANK TOLD US TO TRY THEM AGAIN ON THEM AND THEY WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT. WE TRIED THEIR BBQ AGAIN TODAY AND ITS WAS GREAT AND DEFINITELY APPRECIATE THEM MAKING IT RIGHT! more

Awesome BBQ. 11/30/2009

Since moving to the Wichita area 20 years ago, I have missed being able to go to the most underrated BBQ joint in KC whenever I want to. I really enjoy their meats and sauce. And, oh, those fries! Awesome! I wish they would open a store here in Wichita... Pros: Wonderful BBQ. Cons: No restaurant in Wichita. :-( more

good fries. but the half chicken i had cud hav had more smoke flavor, their sauce was fairly good tho. try Danny Edwards Blvd BBQ just dwn the street for the best sauce and chicken tho! more

Better Down The Road.. 3/10/2009

Not even close to the best in KC. The guys that run the show are getting older and things have changed alot from the past. The meat is dry and the fries are rarely crispy. Service is not bad, but kind of depends on what time of day you are in. The ribs seem to be tough sometimes. I reccomend Quicks BBQ down the road on Merriam lane. They have everything that Rosedale has, at better quality. more

exceptional service and food 2/27/2009

We really can't speak highly enough about every facet of the dealings we had with Rosedale Barbeque when planning the catering for our wedding. Everything they planned and carried out seemed to go without a hitch and the staff were also impeccable. We have had nothing but a good experience in our dealings with Rosedale's staff and will have no hesitation in either recommending or using ""Rosedale Barbeque"" in the future. I really could go on and on... Pros: Professional Service, and very thorough more

Kansas City's Best! 1/2/2009

I am a past time Kansas City Resident currently living in Des Moines, and recently came back after five years to visit family. Rosedale's was my first stop and as wonderful as I remember it. I actually ate there seven times in two weeks to ensure I got my fill and took home a bottle of sauce and had three slabs wrapped for travel. I asked if they would ever consider moving to Des Moines as there is no bbq joint there that even resembles this true bbq treasure! LOVE IT!!!!! Pros: Sauce and Ribs Blues on The Radio Cons: N/A more

While I am not a stickler for atmosphere, if you are a hole in the wall, you better make it up with the food. I ordered the baby back ribs and they were not very good. They were fairly tough and had little sauce. The beans weren't bad, but I've had better. The fries were good, but you could tell they were frozen. However, they fry them longer, making them have better taste. Pros: Good fries Cons: Disappointing ribs more

ive been going to rosedale for 33 years since i got out of the service ive tried gates and bryants and either one can stand up to rosedale. i go at least twice a month the food is cook just perfectly the french fried mushrooms are great and what can you say about the fries. my wife loves the combo ham and beef which is done to perfection. the ribs are so tender that the meat falls off the bone. no other bbq place in town that gives you tremendous service and the sauce is also the best. cant beat the prices. the help is extremely pleasant and always treats the custtomers perfect. will always continue to go there. now my sons take there friends to rosedale also. Pros: everything is thumbs up Cons: there is none more

Rib Tickling 12/2/2008

If you are within an hour drive of this Kansas City establishment make some time to go! The ribs are the best (they only serve pork!) They are moist, tender and meaty. We ordered them without the sauce...you can add it at the table if you want it is unique in that it is not like the traditional sweet kansas city sauce. It is also fast and the staff is efficient! The flavor of the sausage is also wonderful. Gotta have some fries too! Pros: Value, Fast Service, Unique sauce Cons: Need more historical items...more photos, articles, signs,etc.... more

Great catering Too!!!!!! 11/19/2008

This place is great! Not only do we eat here all the time but we use them to cater all our family events. It's so easy. They provide everything; food, paper products,forks, spoons and knives. You can't buy and fix a meal for an event for any less money and the food is fabulous. Everyone raves about the baked potato salad and calls before the next event to make sure we order it again. We even order extra so we have left overs for the week, but we have to make sure to put is away before everyone comes or it will all be gone! Pros: Catering, great food and includes everything! Cons: Can't think of anything more

Rib Tickling Good! 11/15/2008

We Ordered a $19.00 slab for a family of four along with the suggested Baked Potato Salad (great suggestion) The ribs were quickly devoured and we ordered another to eat there and one to take home. The meat was tender and fall of the bone and the sauce was unusual and very good I also took home a bottle of the sauce. I have to say this was a place that came highly recommended and I would pass this recommendation on to those out of town visitors or KC people who want great barbeque without having to pay steakhouse prices! Try the Cheesy Baked Potatoes they are great! more

Great value and great 'Que 11/12/2008

Although this is a ""joint"" it's a place that is worth the wait in line during the lunch rush! The wait staff is very fast and efficient! I usually order a half-bird heavy on the sauce with their perfectly crispy fries for a side with an RC cola. If I wan't to indulge I go whole hog and order a deluxe combo dinner...be ready to eat! This place has been a long time favorite with friends and family as well as out of town visitors. 70 years+ and still smokin' for a reason. They offer a true value for the dollar and offer a consistent product. Keep on smokin' Rosedale and we'll keep coming back for more. more

Burnt Ends and Fries 7/20/2008

Rosedale BBQ is a long time family favorite. Their Burnt Ends and Fries is top of the line with tons of beef cooked to perfection. The fries are to die for and you just simply must try the deep fried mushroom, served with chilled ranch for dip. Their savory BBQ sauce takes the cake and is the perfect blend of not too sweet, not too spicy. You will not leave hungry! My husband once took me to Gates during our courtship and I thought he must be kidding that this was BBQ. I took him to Rosedale's on S.W. Blvd. and he thinks I'm amazing now. The kid meals are also wonderful, and big enough to share with mom and dad. I am talking about top quality breast chicken strips, not processed nuggets. Yum! Pros: Lots of delicious meat for the money Cons: none! more

I dont get the appeal of this place. I thought the sauce and the food were avg. The staff was rude and the place smells like a old pack of cigs. Pros: The bathroom was clean Cons: I dont know what was worse the staff or the food more
