My wife and I have eaten steaks all over Chicago, and we were very excited to try Rosebud Prime. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. We were a bit surprised when a server approached us and asked if we would like a drink, but there was no wine list or menus in sight. So we kindly requested a wine list. After we ordered drinks and they arrived we then were brought menus. We shared the lobster cocktail, and it was not only excellent but well presented. My corn chowder was perfect, just the right size and not too heavy or rich. My wife ordered a house salad with a side of creamy garlic, but that never came. We noticed the server next to us was using a small notebook, and I am fairly certain that meant all of his orders were filled. When we finally asked about the salad the server apologized and stated he would make it up to us with dessert. My Chicago bone-in ribeye was one of the best steaks I have eaten, and I highly recommend this to any steak lover. MY wife's NY strip was also amazing. The yukon mashed side is very tasty, and finished with a little crispy crust on top. The green beans amandine were the one item we disliked, and we found it inedible. Tasted of pearl onions and excessive oil. I would have expected it finished with a hint of butter and done with a bit of garlic in lieu of onions. I would say do not order this. Dessert was the trio of creme brulees, which we were shocked to find on our check after the forgotten salad. We said nothing as this was our first time, but had I been there before I surely would have asked the item be removed from the check. Rule #1, never lie to a customer. I was also surprised that I had to ask for another cocktail, and my wife's wine glass sat empty for upwards of 5 minutes. My experience at other high-end steak restaurants has always been impressive drink service. After all, that is how you turn a 150 dollar tab into a 250 dollar tab. Overall our experience was great and we will return soon
Pros: food, steaks, decor, drinks
