New chef - new menu - amazing food and service! 10/5/2011

Went to Restaurant Week 2011 in October in Buffalo and wow what an amazing experience. The new chef has come up with a great new menu - it was so hard to decide what to order but we went with the specials. Unique, delicious, great presentation, great service - I highly recommend. We can't wait to go back! And what a view! more

bad to great to mediocre in 2 years 4/8/2011

food was terrible a few years ago turnaround a couple years ago was terrific. 1 of best places to eat in area for almost 2 years. last 6 months or so food has taken a turn for the worst. scallops last 2 visits were undercooked.. Lobster mac (which was great a while ago) was dry. apps seemed to have been prepared too far in advance. good bar food but fine dining has gone by the way for some reason..Great service but hard to tip on lousy meals. more

Awesome Atmosphere!!! 11/29/2005

A group of my friends and I stopped in Root Five during the thanksgiving holiday weekend. The dining room was awesome, totally comfortable. our server was great! The food was good, and the drinks were flowing. After dinner we sat at the bar area....what a crowd!! We had such a good time. It's rare to see a nice restaurant with such a happening bar!! All in all we ahad a really great night...I would denf tell people to go to Root Five!!! Cons: Parking more

Disappointed 11/8/2005

It was good when it first opened but has been going steadily downhill since. The last time I ate there the steak was like shoe leather, the lobster was rubbery, the butter was rank. There was nothing good about the meal. Even the salad sucked!! Will never go again. more

Best lake side dining you can find. The food is top quality and service is splendid! Entertainment often and varied. If you haven't tried it you need to! Pros: great value, enjoyable atmosphere, met my fiance` more
