Please do not use Roomers if you expect expert advice or even some minimal level of customer service. We left empty handed and completely unsatisfied.
Here is their tactic: You pay them $90 upfront to visit your home, see your rooms and furnishings, and measure your windows. We did exactly that. We completed the in home consultation and scheduled a time to visit the store to see what fabrics and window treatments they suggested. We arrived at the store on time but had to wait 10 minutes unattended while they finished another appointment. When it was our turn, we were stunned to find out that they had no suggestions. None! We had the pleasure of spending nearly two hours flipping through fabric books ourselves. They never provided us with decent suggestions, nor did their suggestions improve as time passed.
Discouraged and tired, we left and decided to try Williams & Sherrill. We walked into the store without an appointment or a previous consultation, and a designer immediately made it her mission to find us fabrics. In about an hour, we left with 10 great fabric samples freshly cut from the bolts.
Later that week, we returned to Roomers, mentioned our success at Williams & Sherrill, and asked for our measurements. They bluntly said no and did not care to work with us further. They did not offer to see if they had similar fabrics. And, they seemed totally unconcerned that they hadn't helped in any way. They would not return our money, our measurements, or even our paint samples!
Even without advice, I would be willing to pay $90 if it gave us access to better prices and fabrics. It doesn't. We found prices for fabrics as well as finished window treatments substantially cheaper (say 50% or more) at Williams and Sherrill. And, the selection while a bit more limited than Roomers is far better too. That seals the one star rating for me.
So, unless you want to expensively replicate your old grandmother's floral drapes from 1969 or like spending $90 for the opportunity to have someone walk through your home for 15 minutes, I strongly suggest that you avoid Roomers.
Cons: bad customer service, bad selection
