My dog had to have surgery and Dr. Hilinski was wonderful. He explained everything to us and took great care of our dog. The entire staff was friendly and I just felt like everyone cared about her. I brought my pet there because my groomer was working there.She released for being to compassionate. My grommer noticed a minor problem with my dog. Dr Hilinski not only made the problem bigger than it was but overcharged for a simple procedure. He lacked truthfulness and integrity. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Keith and Rolling Hills Pet Hospital. I told my husband that if he ever needs to "put me down," I want him to take me there!! Seriously, I've had cats for 17 years and been to a variety of vets - including cat specialty vets - all over San Diego County and NONE came close to the quality of service and care that I've received at RHPH by both Dr. Keith and all of his staff.\r \r I have always found Dr. Keith to be incredibly kind, knowledgeable, concerned, and thorough. When my cats have been healthy, the routine care they've received has been great. When they have been sick - and in one case, terminally so - I found Dr. Keith to be very careful in explaining to me the variety of options and helping me to avoid costly procedures and/or meds that wouldn't help or weren't necessary. That's not to say that the care is cheap - it's not - but if you want a place that offers the best care around and treats your pet like an important member of t more

We love, love, LOVE Rolling Hills Pet Hospital and their staff! They've been caring for our animals (a total of six and counting) for some 15 years now, and we've always found them to be extremely caring and professional, as well as friendly and helpful. Dr. Keith Hilinski is both knowledgeable and skilled. He lays out all options in treatment and provides any information you need to make informed, reasonable decisions. In my experience, he has always offered more options for difficult-to-treat problems, but has never pushed expensive treatments on us or made us feel guilty for refusing them. When we had to make the difficult decision to put down one of our dogs, he and the whole staff were helpful and sympathetic, making the process as easy as possible. For my money, there's no one I'd rather have caring for the four-legged members of our family. more

Don't walk, run away from rolling hills pet hospital. They will trick you and legally rob you if you allow it, talking from experience. Unfortunately I chose to take my dog to rolling hills pet hospital where I found myself surrounded by masters of the art of trickery. This people are good at deceiving anyone who steps through their door. It is so sad and so cold for them to play with people the way they do just to make a buck. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone. I can tell you that word of mouth plays a big role in the success of a business but most importantly integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness along with the absence of lying and cheating. more

I have 3 rotties, had a Yorkie that past away last Dec and now my 5 mo old bulldog.....so u can see how much money these guys have made off of me in the past years which have been over five years....u'd think they'd considered me loyal customer, right.....well I guess not, money is what they care about....I took my 7 1/2 week old baby bulldog for her 1st set of shots with them, ofcourse they gave them with no discount plus Dr. also gave her a shot (without telling me that there would be a cost) for a bump she got playing with my 3yr old. When the bill came and tried to run my card there was a problem with my card's magnetic strip, I told them I would bring payment to them the next day since it was after 5pm and my bank was closed. They said No, and that they wouldn't give me baby bulldog back until I brought payment, that they would keep her overnight, and I would have to pay boarding fees ofcourse, I told them she was only 7weeks old and would be terrified if left there alone all nigh more

I don't usually write reviews but after reading some of these absolutely ridiculous bad comments i feel compelled to defend their honor. I have been going there for 3 years for my 12yr old cat. This is the ONLY place he has never freaked out about going to. Everyone from the front desk to vet techs are super aswesome! As in genuinely caring, kind, patient, and dedicated to making the experience positive for your pet and yourself. \r \r Yes, they are NOT a discount clinic. They are the equivalent of having a private pediatrician for your kid rather than public health clinics. If you are looking for the best possible, modern, current health care provider for your pet you will LOVE them !!! \r \r If you don't treat your pets like the members of your family they should be, then you probably don't give them the needed health care they deserve - hence the people trashing this place and Dr. Keith. Don't believe them - he is wonderful and so is ALL his staff !!!! more

Yes, if you are looking for a "cheap" vet this is not the place for you, but if you want great service and excellent care for your pets at a fair cost then Rolling Hills Pet Hospital is your place. They always give a treatment plan to show the costs involved with any procedures they do and work with you to see that your pet gets the treatment they need. more

I love this place. My dog, Kuma, was diagnosed with a spindle-cell tumor. I am unemployed and am going to school and the receptionists helped me find a credit provider to help for the costs. It was pricey for the surgery and after-care fees, but what can you really expect for surgery costs? I did have to cut out some extra testings because I had to monitor my finances but I was pleased with the care they gave her. I was stressed because they wrapped her bandage kinda weird after we picked her up and she was bleeding a lot and we had to bring her back right when we just got home, but I figured it was because her wound was an open-wound, which was tricky, and it was hard to stop the bleeding without cutting off her circulation. They seemed real sincere about the mistake and those things happen so I was not bothered so much as just stressed about my best gal, Kuma. My doctor at the time was Dr. Hilinski. He was great! He performed the surgery too. Right now my dog is back in the care of Rolling Hills Pet Hospital for geriatric vestibular disease. She is almost 12 years old. I had to call in for an emergency office visit this week because her symptoms were very acute. I had to skip my scholarship award ceremony as well but it was worth it for my dogs health. This time I had Dr. Shebel. She is so nice. I cried when they gave me the initial plan and costs because I knew I just couldn't afford it. However the nurse there, Wes, who helped me also during Kuma's cancer surgery was very compassionate and told me that he understood and they'd try to find a different plan based on my budget. It was so comforting that the Dr. Shebel and Nurse Wes were very considerate and understanding that I love my dog but I had to find another way. Their compassion alone was wonderful and I will always remember that. Pros: Great care! Cons: Can be pricey, but you just have to go with your budget more

Yes, it is a very overpriced. The front office staff is very courteous and go out of their way. But the ones that should be are not. The male doctor gives you all the information and never says if it will cost extra or how much. When I asked him why all the extra costs he said "What?! you think we work for free." more

Terrible service! If you don?t purchase their products or go with all the doctors RECOMMENDATIONS, be prepared for animal control to come to your house. I recently took my dog there because he wasn?t feeling well. After a quick evaluation by the doctor he recommended we receive some x-rays. I declined the x-rays and took my dog home. The following day my dog was feeling better, but Animal Control arrived at my house. Animal Control told me that the doctor at rolling hills said I refused treatment for my dog. Animal Control inspected my dog and told me that I just needed to bring him back to the vet to get cleared by the doctor. I took my dog back to the same vet, and a nurse and a different doctor said he was fine and made me purchase their dewormer medication in order for them to clear my dog. more

VERY pricey and the male MD is very rude. I pulled my cat out in the middle of treatment because I was treated so badly by the male MD. Moved to Telegraph Canyon Animal Medical Center MUCH happier. more

A little on the expensive side, but we love Dr. Keith and the entire staff. We've taken both our cats there since we got them 2 years ago. Their email reminder system for shots and check-ups is a GREAT tool. Very helpful staff! more

Ive never met a Dr. "Dr. Kieth Hillinski" that Ive felt more comfortable and confident putting my pet in their hands, I think that's a quality you can't put a price on, Dr. Kieth and his staff are the most capable most competent, and most experienced veterinary staff Ive ever dealt with!! more
