After three trips to Florence, I finally found this place open. It was only open on certain days, but that seems to have changed. Better to check before you hunt it down. I go out of my way to try a barbeque joint, especially a local favorite. The signs say voted best BBQ in the county for years and years. BBQ in the Carolinas is defined differently depending on geography. I have tried maybe 8 different types. This was not my favorite. \r

Instead of ordering off a menu, it is buffet. Two types of pulled pork, pork ribs, and chicken. The pulled pork had no noticeable smoke flavor, and was a little tough. I could only find one type of sauce, and it is the very vinegary variety. The chicken was tasteless, and seemed baked in sauce rather than BBQ. I am a big fan of southern sides, and tried the lima beans (good), collard (good), fried okra (cold), and cole slaw (Okay). \r

The staff should work at Walmart. Lunch time, the line is out the door, and three girls are talking about their dates. I had to walk across the room a snag a bottle of BBQ sauce from a dirty table. Service comes to the table to fill your drink and give you a straw after I was done pushing the food around my plate. Not a word, just drop the straw and a pitcher of tea. \r

I filled a cavity, but I have had better southern BBQ in Connecticut. Maybe it is a regional variety that I do not have a taste for. I wish I could find a real BBQ joint that specializes in good BBQ rather than cheap, all-u-can eat buffet. The search continues.
Pros: All you can eat. Comes with a soft drink. All you can drink
Cons: Cheap food. Clueless staff.
