You not only purchase excellent ballet instruction at Roger's Ballet; but, more importantly your child learns to survive in a real world, cut-throat environment where she/he will receive or, at the very least, witness adult favoritism (and bullying) by the Director. Parents get their monies worth at the for-profit company ran as if it is a non-profit. The studio is on the campus of Friend's University. The Director is an Adjunct Faculty member of the Ballet Department but not on the University's payroll. Leaves one wondering why? Many children have been asked to leave, in part, due to poor conflict management generated by the outdated focal system. Communication with Parents, access to the Director and classroom activity are controlled thru one parent representative per class, the focal. At this level of training and with her expertise the Director ""cannot be bothered"" to communicate with each parent. You may be fortunately enough to be a focal and your child treated with favoritism. Or, you may witness the same as a non-focal family and your child be the least favorite of the Director and ultimately be asked to leave. This generates a culture of fear. Enjoy the benefits of Roger's Ballet.
