I am currently shredding all of the paperwork I have regarding a case of "CHARGE THIS PET-LOVING VICTIM." Rather than take him to court as it involves so much time I have decided to shred the paperwork and not think about how unscrupulous this "vet" is. First of all he NEVER told me that he was going to bill me for all of these bogus charges in treating my sick cat. I was SHOCKED when I was checking out and saw the invoice. "You've got to be kidding!" Then, during the consultation with me and my cat, he muscle tested me while his assistant held my cat and there was a charge for $175 for this called BBH Human History. It took him 2 minutes of muscle testing me with no warning that he would charge me for that. When I checked out, the bill was nearly $1000. What a quack! He took blood and urine from my cat and followed up with an email to me 20 days later about coming in for the results. This is not good veterinary medicine. I am sorry that these types of individuals exist who take advantage of pet lovers. I believe that it is against the law to practice as a Medical doctor and a veterinarian. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM AND I HOPE THAT KARMA WILL TEACH HIM THAT YOU CANNOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND THEIR ANIMALS THIS WAY. more

be very careful of this *man*. he wants your money. The weaker and more desperate you are the better. Your pet means nothing if it doesn't mean money. he's a liar, and a good one. more

Mr Valentine is a very troubled individual. I say Mr as he in no way should be construed as a vet. Much less a Dr. He's simply a person who has figured out a way to make a lot of money for nothing in return. If you're one to believe in invisible pills, little vials of water of which he hasn't the ability to choose twice. And cute little lights and beeps at the back of your or your pets neck as a cure or even help with an illness...Then he's your man. If you're desperate to help your pet and cost is of no consequence, then he's your man. He'll take you all the way to the cleaners and home again. I once asked him if he had a gut feeling for how long I might have my cat. His response? "It depends on how much you want to spend". What a curious answer. And then he charged me 900.00 for one visit.:) more

Very expensive snake oil. If you love your pet keep it away from Valentine. Dr? I don't think so. He'd roll his own mother in a dark alley for money. more

Valentine is a nut job. He missed cancer in two of my cats. Almost killed one with his vitamin e shot. More than once. He's nothing but a con and he will take every last cent he can from you. With a big smile on his face. He preys on people who are desperate to help their pet. He's an evil individual. more

We should have been more diligent before allowing this man to enter our home. On the phone he offered us hope. Once in our home he had nothing to offer except a very large bill including fees for an assistant who spent his time, typing up the bill. He did not appear to like dogs very much. His magic wand waving, vibration nonsense and dissertations re: allergies where all too ridiculous. The last laugh is on us - we paid the crazy bill!!! more

I took my cat in to have $25 soft paws put on and left $400 later! Mr. Valentine (Dr. not warranted) insisted that my cat was allergic to everything...her food, her litter, the anesthesia used when she was fixed...and then he put my cat to sleep to put on the soft paws...unbelievable. If you're in santa monica, the Pet Medical Center on 14th street is the real deal. This opinion has nothing to do with holistic methods, which I am a huge supporter of....but only of a really unfortunate organization. more

Dr. Valentine visited me on Sunday at my house after my dog had problems with his back (due to my ignorance, I had given him cheese the night before), and my dog felt better right away. Dr. Valentine was friendly and helpful and even though his methods seem odd, it works! My dog had his back stuck and after the treatment, it only took a day for him to be back to normal! And he wasn't scared of Dr. Valentine...He usually is really scared. more

Dr. Valentine isn't up to current standards for a vet...let alone he treats PEOPLE!!! He makes people think he has cured their pet and all he did was give them a vitamin B shot so the pet SEEMS energetic! He is a snake oil salesman!! His green wand?? HA!!! His crystal water?? It was replaced with just regular tap water and he never even noticed!! Stay away from this lunatic!! more

His methods seem strange and the cost of the visit high, but in the long run he is cheaper than traditional vets I've been to in that it has been one or two treatments and no drugs. He has now brought back two of my cats from what seemed liked the end. He also does traditional methods when neccessary. If you want to to go fully traditional and very trustworthy, Dr. Candello in the Palisades is great too. My cats are just as relaxed with him as Valentine. more

Roger Valentine is a quack. Nothing he does would be accepted as veterinary practice and he what he charges you is total highway robbery. I wanted treatment for my pet's arthritis and he pushes this energy BS on you with his laser green wand. Total BS. BEWARE. more

Dr Valentine is incredible. I spent so much money at an allergy specialist who wanted to put my 9 lb puppy on serum shots for 12 months to desensitize him from his allergies, while taking 3 oral medications daily. No thank you! Within the first visit my pup was better and now a month later he is doing fabulous. No medications and he is back to eating his favorite dog food! more

Dr. Valentine's office was the only office in which my dog would wag his tail when entering the office! The atmosphere is so relaxing and peace- ful and we both always felt so comfortable going there. When I get another pet I will definitely return to his office. He is able to tune in to exactly what is going on with the animals... kind of like "Dr. Doolittle" he talks to the animals! I felt so safe bringing my dog to him when he finally had to be euthanized because he had a very peaceful passing. If I had found out about Dr. V. sooner, maybe my dog would have lived longer and healthier, but I was glad to have him care for my dog for the time that he did. more

My cat had what appeared to be a stroke. I took him to an animal hospital where he was treated for two weeks and put on loads of drugs. He was still not better, but unable to bear seeing him in a cage any longer I took him out having no idea what to do next. With little faith I took him to Whole World Pets on a referral. Dr. Valentine got him off almost all drugs and almost fully recovered in one visit.Be pepared that his methods are unusual. more

I was talked into it!!! I've always been a little skeptical about the "holistic" approach for even my own. You never know if the Dr. is "wholly" there or even really a Dr.! ? Roger Valentine changed my perception of holistic. He was caring, attentive and obviously a skilled and knowledgeable healer. And he does house calls!!! What's even more amazing is that on his first trip to our house (cleo does not like cars!!) he took time to assess her surroundings, (where the litter box was??) and found that she in fact was allergic to the glue used for the linoleum in the laundry room. Great?! But Dr Valentine treated her and even today her allergy remains GONE!! I feel a bit strange admitting that he now treats the entire family (not just the 4 legged ones)....And I couldn't be happier! It's great to find someone you can trust to be smart enough to use the treatment that works for YOU!! Not just the first thing THEY learned way back in college... more
