Do not use this company! Workmanship is horrible, and a cheap, inadequate liner was used for both a pond-less water feature, and then for an updated, enlarged pond for fish. We have had a leaking pond and waterfall for over 2 years now, and incompetent workers were clueless about how to resolve these ongoing issues and problems. We had to have this expensive pond and waterfall completely re-built after giving this company 2 years to correct the problems. We have tried to contact the company recently to get fair compensation for having to get a pond re-do, one that they wanted to charge us 4 times the amount for, but why would anyone want to go with a company who could not do the job right the first time, much less pay 4 times the amount to get it right, again. We had no choice but to seek another pond contractor's help. The new contractors explained to us that the skimmer box that Rocky Mountain Ponds and Waterfall had installed was not put together correctly, was not sealed correctly, and had been positioned in the pond incorrectly. Water leakage was also found underneath the liner. It also took Rocky Mountain Ponds and Waterfall almost 6 months to find that a water-main coupler elbow, that they had installed previously, was broken, causing a huge amount of water leaking into our yard, killing dozens of our perennials, and creating a swamp of a mess for many months. Our two dogs were unable to use our backyard during that time due to mud and erosion. This company was incompetent and clueless, and most of their workers do not speak enough English to properly communicate with the homeowner. We will take this case to the BBB, for not only did we spend an exorbitant amount of money to have them build a pond-less water feature in the beginning, we paid even more money for an upgrade to a larger pond for fish. It was never communicated to us that their original, cheap liner that was used for the pond-less water feature would not be large enough for a larger pond install, and might cause our pond to leak. Instead, they did another incompetent job, and took our money, again. more

I contacted RMPW and met with Dusty to review ideas and designs for a water feature. Dusty took into account my existing landscape and how best to incorporate a new hardscape. As we already had new landscaping in place, Dusty's team was very careful not to damage the grass or shrubs as they maneuvered a mini-hex for the excavation. They had to move 4 trees (very expensive trees) which was difficult given the rootball wasn't supported by the wire basket (the previous landscaper removed it which isn't correct to do). While it impacted their schedule by a day, they took the time to hand dig up each tree while carefully wrapping the rootball and moving it so they could excavate. The trees were replanted and show no stress or damage from the move. It's because do their carefulness and caring about my concern which can be rare in the ""blow and go"" world of contractors. Yes, not all the crew didn't speak english, but there was always a foreman on site who spoke english extremely well and was very helpful in providing suggestions and guidance when issues came up (ie having to move the sprinkler box, avoiding a gas line, etc.). Everyone was extremely polite and very easy to communicate with and all were very hard working and got the job done as contracted. Dusty was very helpful with ideas to enhance the existing landscape with simple, relatively inexpensive ways to tie the water feature in with the existing landscape. They were very flexible as well when I added scope to the job to complete some mulching...reasonably priced and very thorough. I wasn't at home during most of the work and it was completed to my satisfaction without any rework whatsoever. My experience with them was one of the best I have had with contractors and I have had many contractors over the last year as we just completed a custom home build. I wish I had contracted with Dusty for all of the landscaping and will definitely call on him again should the opportunity arise. He far exceeded my expectations with the water feature. His product is definitely of high quality fitting a $1M+ home. more

Don't trust these positive reviews. Check out Yelp as well and you'll see know one is happy with Rock Mountain Ponds and Waterfalls. They are a scam business! Dusty comes out and draws up some kind of sketch in minutes. It's not even a good one. Once the work starts, you'll only see Dusty once and Daniel who he puts in charge of the projects is only there when it's pay day. The laborers they use don't speak a single word of English and are most likely not insured, so if they hurt themselves on the job you better watch out. Potential LAWSUIT! The materials they use is cheap and once the project is complete they will never call you again. EVER!!! Good luck getting them to call you back as well. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN unless it's for more projects. They will not follow up with you. You've been warned. more

Wow! What a difference a day makes! \r \r Dusty and his team led by Oscar were amazing. I still can not believe what these guys did in one day! They NEVER stopped working from the time they arrived until the minute they left. \r \r Frankly, I had my doubts that the work that was scheduled for the day was really achievable in one day. I stand corrected. It's one thing doing a large amount of work in a day - what really counts is results. Before RMPW arrived, the pond water features were leaking badly - they ripped out the old waterfall and stream features and rebuilt them ; drained the pond and cleaned it; gently returned the fish to their new home; THEN mulched the entire front, back and side yards. Looks like a new place! Beautiful. The pond water features look better than they did originally (look much more natural) l and the yard looks amazing. more

Beware! Choose another company 8/18/2011

Contracted with them for a large landsacaping and flagstone patio job. They are administratively very dissorganized, which more than negates any of their strengths. They originally began installing the wrong color stones due to poor internal communication, and had to rip them up and start over. They incorporated a pergula structure into the flagstone patio. The problem: The pergula has movement which causes the flagstone around it to buckle and crack. They did not stand behind their work to correct this design flaw. While this company has great creativity, thay are too administratively diorganized and do not stand behind their work which makes for a painful experience. more

Unbeliveable Backyard 12/30/2010

Dusty and RMW went above and beyond when reinventing my backyard into an unbelievable resort like yard. Dusty's vision and ideas of building our Waterfall, Fire pit and Outdoor kitchen are the reasons we selected RMW. Not only did he execute all of his promises but his crew was professional on time and real Craftsmen. RMW prices are good but when you combine that with the quality of work it becomes OUTSTANDING !!! more

Great design, excellent construction, happy customer! 1/19/2010

Dirt. That's what we started with. Just a bunch of dirt. Pros: Professional; respectful; increbly talented; great value Cons: Start date was a few weeks out, but well worth the wait! more

Terrible 4/16/2009

Did a terrible job. Total ripoff. It took 2 landscaping companies to fix the damage. The owner is clueless. He's the only one that speaks english!!! All I got was a huge hole in my yard! Broken pipes and electrical damage. A worker also urinated in my yard. more
