Best

You can't go wrong here. Take a coat though, it gets a bit chilly at the top when it's raining. There are no words to discribe the beauty.

GORGEOUS! 7/23/2002

Rocky Mountain National Park is GORGEOUS! The scenic beauty is amazing. You can always see many elk and other wildlife in the park. There are many bighorn sheep, also- but I've not seen one yet. Don't miss Trail Ridge Road- the highest continental paved road in the U.S. The views are breathtaking and spectacular. You can take that to Grand Lake- which is absolutely lovely. I wish that the park would have an official Lodge (ie: like Old Faithful). Pros: wildlife, scenic beauty, great location Cons: no dogs allowed, can be crowded, no official LODGE more

Awsome 7/22/2002

Rocky Mountain National Park - This is one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. If you are in Denver do not miss the opportunity to dive the entire parkway. I left Denver at 3:00pm and drove to Winter Park then continued to Rt. 34 through the national park and ended in Estes Park, CO. It took 5 hours including scenic stops. They are irresistible! I loved it! Pros: unbelievable, beautiful, awsome more

First Time Bugle!! 7/19/2002

My first time visiting Rocky Mountain National Park was shortly after moving to Colorado. My sister and her husband took us to watch & listen to the elk bugle. It was amazing!!! I had never heard this before. Along with the amazing sounds and action of the elk vying for top dog, the aspen trees were gorgeous!! more

Truly stunning 5/20/2002

Drove up Thompson Canyon to Estes Park and along the ridge. Amazing scenery, wildflowers and wildlife. We saw several herds of elk and deer, a moose, and lots of little critters, including marmots, I think they're called. Definitely bring a picnic. Estes Park is a cute little town, and worth a stroll up and down the main street. more
