I never write reviews but felt compelled to try to save people the time, hassle & stress of dealing with this AWFUL company. My husband & I decided to install granite counters & a backsplash in my home. I shopped around & found Rockland Marble & Granite. Read a few not so positive reviews but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. At first the owner, Tony Giannetti, was very accomodating & answered all my questions & phone calls. Took my huband (who doesn't jump into any decisions quickly or without doing extensive research) to meet with Tony and they realized that they knew each other from a previous job that Tony held. My husband figured we couldn't do better than have a personal connection with the owner & that he'd take care of us as far as a good, quality job. We were happy to give our business to someone we knew too. Boy, were we wrong! I picked out my granite & Tony showed up at my house that day to sign contracts & get a check for half the amount up front. Hindsight being 20/20, I can see that was the first mistake I made. He doesn't take credit cards & had me make the check out to him personally. 2 weeks later after numerous no-shows, 2 of his employees showed up to install our counters. These men were so inept & unqualified that I could not believe it. Completely inexperienced & had no business installing such an expensive material. The counters were noticeably uneven with huge gaps visible underneath. A seam broke the next day. I called Tony immediately & he dodged my calls for a week until I finally tracked down one of his workers, Sai. Sai came out to see what he could do to fix the counters & install my backsplash. Although he's exudes confidence, he really doesn't have the skills to back it up. He fixed the seam but made the gaps underneath even worse. Then when he went to install the backsplash, he realized he cut the electrical outlet holes too big and that they'd need to get more granite to try again. Sai tod me that although I originally paid for 3 slabs, Tony only purchased 2 so that he could pocket the rest of the $. Also, apparently Sai & his fellow employees hadn't been paid in over 6 weeks & that's why the quality of work was so low. I think he hires day laborers off Craigslist. Now that there's problems, I haven't heard from Tony again. Won't return my phone calls, etc. It's been 2 months & I am now pursuing legal action against Tony & his company in order to recoup my money PLUS the cost of having the counters fixed by a reputable & reliable company that know what they're doing. The company that came in to do the repair work were actually laughing at the work that Rockland Marble & Granite did. Not sure how this man sleeps at night. If this is how he treats people he knows...can't imagine how he treats others.
