This was the best moving experience I could have hoped for 6/4/2011

As we prepared for our long distance move from Airmont to Austin, Texas... I was nothing short of terrified. Researching movers proved to be not unlike watching horror movies. Except in this case, the horror film's sequel would be starring you.\r \r Then, thanks to citysearch we found two prospective movers: Rockland M&M and A Better Tripp (based out in Texas) Both had stellar reviews, Rockland M&M came in slightly less expensive after a in house estimate by Alex. We were more comfortable going with someone local and an in person estimate.\r \r Prior to the move, Alex checked in with us often and made adjustments to our inventory and cost as we sold things and changed what we were moving. We were given a move date and were told the movers would arrive between 9-9:30am.\r \r A few days before the move (April 1st), the long distance department called and confirmed our details and gave us a window (May 8th-15th) during which our things would arrive in Austin. The long distance moving truck would call 24-48 hours in advance to give us the specific delivery time.\r \r The day of the move it was raining. At 8:30 the movers called and said they'd be arriving closer to 9:30. They arrived at 9:20am. The movers were all very nice and respectful. We were all quite shocked at how well everything was wrapped. Every single item (including the one's we packed) was wrapped in plastic wrap and then taped by the moving crew. Our lamps, electronics, pictures, and TV were packed by the moving crew. All the furniture was wrapped heavily in moving blankets and then in plastic wrap. Each piece was then numbered and added to a physical inventory.\r \r There was a slight miscalculation in the initial moving estimate. Our TV was actually 15 cubic feet instead of 10 after packing by the crew and my bed was 65 cubic feet instead of 45. In addition, we ended up having a few more things than were on the quote, so in total we were over by 50 cubic feet (about $350 extra). We spoke with Alex and was happy to find that there was no arguing or battle. We split it down the middle. They ate their extra 25 cu feet and I payed a little more for mine.\r \r We then embarked on an epic road trip which involved stops along the eastern seaboard and the southern united states. Thanks to Rockland M&M Movers long distance team and constant communication and updates, we were able to spend our time having fun vs worrying about getting to Austin and waiting. They called us on the 1st and said they would arrive on Thursday the 5th. We then immediately booked it to New Orleans to visit Grandma with all the worry free time!\r On the 4th, they called and said they would be at our new apartment on the next day at 11am. The next day they were pulled in at 10:55am and patiently waited while we got our keys and finished paperwork. Turns out they were two cousins from Chad and we talked about all the stops they made on the way to us. They were probably the nicest movers I've encountered. Every item that came into the house was checked off of the detailed inventory the original movers created as we packed. Their supervisor called and made sure that we were happy with everything before they took off.\r \r In the end, everything made it here exactly as it left New York Not one scratch, nick, or dent in anything aside from a crappy $10 box fan that we didn't pack properly.\r \r more

HIGHLY RECCOMENDED 6/2/2011

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I got a quote online from Rockland M&M movers and scheduled the move. The pricing and the terms were straightforward, fair, and in writing. The 3 guys showed up on time, and were courteous and professional. And they were patient in spite of unforeseen parking and street access obstacles on either end of the move that made their job more difficult. They finished on time and honored the original estimate. It was so easy! (By contrast, I watched as the girl moving out of my new apartment was completely ripped off by the squirrely group of movers she'd hired...Who more-than doubled her original estimate once they had the truck loaded. Yikes.) more

Moving Within the House 6/1/2011

We are having major construction on our home done and the upstairs was finished and ready to move back in to. The movers moved all items from an ""on-site"" POD and either brought them upstairs to the new finished rooms or downstairs to the basement for storage. In addition, they moved furniture and cartons from the main floor to upstairs, the basement and the POD for future storage until work on the main floor of the house is completed. Greg and Sydney were wonderful. They were professional, thorough, courteous and extremely careful of our new floors, walls, etc. We plan to use the company again when we are ready to move back into the entire house more

Remarkably Impressed! 5/31/2011

I selected this company for two main reasons. First, their price, second, the customer service. I worked with a guy named Alex when I was getting my quote. Rockland M&M does everything themselves from the pick-up, the storage, and the long-haul delivery. I did some investigating and found this all to be true. I got my things delivered in like a week, which is exactly what they told me on the phone. It was really important to me to know exactly when I would get my things so I could take off work. Mike was the one I spoke to after the initial move. He explained that since there were other jobs, and other variables, he couldnt promise an exact time of delivery, but she gave me the truck drivers cell phone number so I could stay updated. I appreciated that they did everything they could and went out of their way to keep me informed. more

To whom it may concern 5/31/2011

This is an email I sent to G. Shashoua the co-owner of Rockland M&M Movers which moved my family and I cross country in late April and was the second such move performed by this company in the last three years, the first being from New York to Florida and this last move from Florida to Chicago. G Shashoua, My name is Jay Trepp and I would like to thank you first for guiding my family and I through the tedious process called moving, when we first moved to Florida, you were kind enough to spend countless hours on the telephone with my wife kim touching on each and every concern we had collectively regarding moving our family. The contents of our home consists of countless family heirlooms, antiques collected by great great grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles etc. Your movers treated every item as if they were their own and with such delicate items, our biggest concern was the safe trasportation. the gentlemen that you set up for our move came to our home, crated several items which in itself was a monstrous task, and packed the rest of the household up with meticulous care ensuring that nothing would be damaged. When the items arrived in California, we knew that we had found a lifelong moving company for not only ourselves, but for each family, friend and neighbor that we knew were moving and have since sent countless customers your way to show our appreciation. for this second move, although smaller than the first, your crew handled our items the way we were sure they would. This email is just a token of our appreciation to you, your friendly staff and most of all, Alex, Abe, and Steve, the men who made certain that our keepsakes will be with our family for a lifetime. If there is anything you need from us including a referal, please do not hesitate to call on us. Warmest regards, Jay, Kim and Scotty Trepp more

Your moving service was really good. We didn't had a hard time dealing with the movers. Thanks for the extra packing and the free boxes you provided for the unpacked things. I'm really contented with the quality service I had with Rockland M&M Movers. Good job, guys! more

Very Helpful and Polite Movers! Definitely recommended! 5/30/2011

I just to extend my gratitude for the excellent service sRockland M&M Movers provided me. From the time I called your office (it was very last minut request) to the completion of the job, all workers were extremely helpful and efficient. My questions were answered politely. I was very pleased with the complete service they gave in moving all my belongings, I would recommend their service to anyone moving. Thank you for all your help and I look forward to using your company again. more

Excellent, Highly reccomended! 5/29/2011

Alex is great at Rockland M&M . Prompt response to my emails and phone calls. And handled my last minute changes no problem. You deal with one person the whole time and that was reassuring. I did have one small box lost, but even considering that, I will use M&M movers for my future moves. I'm a big fan of giving credit due when customer service is excellent--and M&M movers customer service is top notch. I found a couple places that would ship for slightly cheaper--but you get what you pay for, which is a big consideration when you are talking about all your possessions. And, frankly, some of the other moving companies didn't 'feel' right--I know that is very subjective, but it does come down to trust. I highly recommend Alex and his crew at Rockland M&M movers. more

Solid Company 3/1/2011

Fantastic! If I could give M&M Moving 10 stars I would. I am so impressed with the FAST and FRIENDLY service I received. I usually use my cousins but they did'n€™t have time for me so I had to find a company asap. I searched online and Olympus Moving and Storage came up a few times and the reviews were mostly all good. Other companies offered ""flat-rate"" but when I called all the other I just didn't get the feeling that this was the case. After contacting M&M Moving with a general list of what I had and where I was going, I received both a voice mail from Alexander Davis and an email with a quote. At this point, I knew I was dealing with a professional company. The day of the move, Steve gave me a call to let me know that they are on the way. This was fantastic news as I was eager to get things going. Steve, David and Carlos showed up, gave a quick walk through of my two bedrooms apartment and got to work quickly. No time was wasted and they knew exactly how to tackle each parcel as it was carefully passed through the door and onto the truck. The move in was just as quick (aside from the two story climb) as the move out. M&M Movers tackled the job without hesitation or delay and even offered some advice as to what to cool places to check out given my new surroundings. All in all, it was one of the best experiences I have had doing business with a company in a long while. Not only did they come in and do the job that was requested, they did it efficiently and with top-notch customer service. That is hard to find in a company. I will most definitly recommend M&M Moving and Storage to anyone looking to move. The experience was pleasant and professional from start to finish - 10 Stars! more
