See Rock City 8/19/2005

Located atop Lookout Mountain, Georgia, Rock City is one of Chattanooga's premier attractions. Located just 6 miles from downtown Chattanooga, Rock City is a true marvel of nature featuring massive ancient rock formations, gardens with over 400 native plant species, and breathtaking "See 7 States" panoramic views. Visit in the springtime to enjoy the beautiful gardens and then come back in December for the Enchanted Garden of Lights. The beautiful decorations of Christmas truly make you feel as if you are in a fairy tail. This is a definite must see for anyone. more

What a great Christmas Treat 8/18/2005

To see Rock City lit up with Christmas lights and designs at night is such a treat. We took our daughter there last Christmas and it was such fun. You go through fat man's squeeze and look over all of the rocks down into the valley and are surrounded by the holiday lights. You cannot take a stroller, so we had to carry her with us but it was worth it. If your kids are at a walking age take note there are steps and the line of people is pretty steady. There is a stop to have your picture with Santa as well. Of course this park is open all year and you can see all of the 7 states from up there, but it is especially neat during the holidays. more

beautiful 7/31/2005

Rock City is located atop Lookout Mountain, just 6 miles from downtown Chattanooga. Rock City featuring massive ancient rock formations, gardens with many native plants, and you'll be able to check out 7 states from the "see 7 states"area. The Enchanted Trail is a beautiful walk . My favorite part is Fairyland Caverns and Mother Goose Village. My kids like this part too LOL. Fat Man's squeeze and the swinging bridge are a hoot. It's a fun place to go with family. more

A Timeless Tourist Attraction 7/25/2005

Perhaps Rock City holds a special place in my heart because I grew up going there with my grandparents each year when we came to camp in Tennessee. Funny how life comes full circle and now I live here in Chattanooga. Rock City has been around long enough for my Dad to have gone as a child and it is a magical place for children. Squeezing through the Fat Mans Squeeze and the Needle's Eye, looking out over Lovers Leap, trying to see seven states at once, etc. Located on Lookout Mountain, Rock City weaves around the mountain with lots to stop and see along the way. Elves are tucked here and there, there beautiful views and a whole Mother Goose display at the end (right before you exit into the gift shop, of course). Adults will probably not get as big a kick out of it as the kids, but it makes for a fun afternoon. The grounds are clean, there are several restrooms along the way, and admission is not outrageous. This is a legendary attraction that you won't want to miss. more
