After an hour of being ignored by our waitress, she came over and just dropped us a check without asking if we needed anything. I had ordered a cosmo and it was undrinkable so I asked to have it removed. She asked me why I didn't say anything earlier (how could I when we couldn't find her?). The manager came over and asked, ""So who's the ""connoiseur"" of drinks over here?"" To which I replied, ""I am"" (since seriously, I am. I've been bartending for ten years, I've been published in zagat, metromix, 944, I think I'm on here somewhere, blah blah blah...) Anyway, I told him the drink was way too strong. He said well then why did I order a martini, don't I know what a martini is, they don't short change their customers there, they give them a lot of booze, etc. I said I ordered a cosmo because I wanted something a little sweeter than just a full on shot of vodka. He said, well, I'll take it of this time, but next time I should know what I'm talking about before I order something. He basically berated me in from of all my friends, calling me an idiot because their bartender can't make a drink. Granted, it's a pub, but still, you shouldn't be behind the bar if all you know how to do is pour beer. And you NEVER fight with a customer. Just last night at my bar I had a customer drink five glasses of wine and then turn around and swear that she only drank three. Did I fight with her? No. You just don't do it. A manager especially should know better. I left immediately and will never return.
