I came in knowing I would need full mouth gum surgery. I was given a ""Hi End quote"" of $5000 on the phone. After receiving xrays & a VERY brief exam (the cost of which was never shared with me until they handed me the bill), the DR. said it would be approximately $8000. I repeated the quote I was told by his financial person, and he said I should discuss it with her. He said that SHE knows the numbers better, and makes those decisions. He then went over and whispered in her ear (really, I kid you not) & she came back to discuss payments with me. She told me the Dr. determined it would be $8.000 not even close to the $5,000 I was quoted by her!
Furthermore the website is deceptive. It clearly states:
""Speak with our Financial Coordinator to create an individualized plan to meet your specific needs. Some of these options include:
* Short-term, in-office plans
* Interest-free options up to 12 months
* Flexible payment plans up to 60 months""
I was told no payment plan, then told max would be 6 months. No options whatsoever. They didn't even do a credit check (If had they, it would have shown I have squeaky clean crdit, so I doubt they offer these so called ""options"" to anyone.)
I mentioned the website and she asked ME what it said! I went to them specifically because they said FLEXIBLE plans to meet MY needs which I also discussed when I scheduled my appointment.
It was the same financial person who I had spoken with initially, the one who scheduled the appointment for me, and the very SAME person I spoke with at the office. Hard to believe that within 24 hours, she completely changed her tune. I feel I was duped into coming in by a low quote and false advertising. This is fraudulent business practice.
Now they are holding my xrays hostage, saying it takes ""processing"" time. The xrays cost me $265! I need treatment asap, that is what they told me, and now they are delaying it. This is unethical at best, probably doesn't qualify as malpractice, but it should.
