Dr. Robert L. Shpuntoff graduated S.U.N.Y at Stony Brook and spent time doing Cancer Research at NYU before moving on to study dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with a D.M.D. degree in 1982. Upon earning his DMD degree, Dr. Shpuntoff completed an advanced dentistry residency at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. with a specialty training in dental implants and in 1983, he received his Certificate in Implantology. He was in charge of Geriatric Dental Services at The Samuel Schulman Institute in Brooklyn from 1983 to 1988. Dr. Shpuntoff received his Certificate in Orthodontics in 1990 from NYU Dental School.
Dr. Shpuntoff was president of the Queens County Dental Society 2001. He is currently an active member of the Board of Trustees of the Queens County Dental Society and a delegate to the New York State Dental Society.
Dr. Shpuntoff works hard to stay abreast of the latest advances in dental care and participates in regular continuing education seminars and advanced training courses.. Our office does its best to set our practice apart from the rest. We pride ourselves in offering the most personalized care to all our patients. Dr. Shpuntoff is an active member of the AAO and HSA,as well as other organizations - With over 20 years experience,Dr. Shpuntoff is certified by the American Association of Orthodontists and belongs to the Holistic Dental Society. As a member of the HSA,Dr. Shpuntoff believes that dental care relates to the entire person. He strives to inform and educate every patient so that they will be able to make informed decisions while feeling accepted,understood and supported emotionally.
We stay updated on the latest technologies and procedures - Dr. Shpuntoff is always looking into new and improved alternatives,keeping us up to date with the latest technologies and procedures in orthodontics. Our goal is to give you a smile that you will be proud of! It does not matter whether you are a child or an adult. Our mission is to make everybody feel comfortable and special in the office. While braces are the traditional way to straighten teeth,Dr. Shpuntoff also enjoys the opportunity to provide patients with alternative treatment such as invisible aligners and removable appliances.
