I always order the cranberry cream cheese wantons and the pineapple fried rice, an insanely delicious meal for me and I always have leftovers! more

Hennepin Avenue's Suburban Error 1/13/2010

I'm surprised by the many reviews touting Roat Osha. I don't know who's writing them but do not be fooled. Please Minneapolis, set your bar higher. The food is reminiscent of food one get at Chin's Asia fresh (Leann Chin's half-step-up). Upon my dining partner's and my second (and last) visit last month, our server didn't even know what teas they had (leaving the table for fifteen minutes to find out). On top of it she seemed to have no basic knowledge of anything but the pad thai ""the pad thai is good, the pad thai is popular"" was about all we heard... seven times at least (with renewed prompting - mind you). Unfortunately, the Pad Thai was cottoncandy-like and missing most of the essential LAYER of flavors indicative of a true Pad Thai. The ugliest thing about my last visit was realizing that this restaurant (by design and execution) would fit more comfortably into any enclosed mall in the suburbs. Maybe I'm a purist, but Roat Osha doesn't work for me. more

  • In Short
The Thai restaurant scene has fairly exploded in recent years, yet this chain remains at the top of any local's list. The menu is divided among chicken, seafood and beef dishes, with a few duck offerings and a nice list of noodle and curry stir-fries. Adventurous diners sample signature dishes like roast duck curry or Tail of Two Cities (stir-fried curry of lobster and green beans), while newbies stick with the top-notch pad thai.
