I thought it would be nice to give my business to a local "" mom and pop"" business instead of the big chains that seem to be taking over. Also, this pharmacy is on the way home from my work so it's somewhat convenient.
BUT... I was SO wrong! The first thing you will notice upon entering is a big, tacky cardboard sign hanging in the front door window. Written in black marker it says "" We do not stock Oxy Contin"" . This should have been my first clue that the pharmacist ( named Grace ) is completely paranoid. The next thing you can't help but notice is signs posted all over the store saying that the pharmacy runs your name through the FBI data base, to ensure that you are not a criminal. For what purpose, I have no idea but since I am neither a criminal nor do I take Oxy Contin I shrugged it off and went in.
So anyway, I bring in my Rx and I get the full on interrogation before the pharmacist decides to fill it. I had chronic pain that required me to take a pain killer, was I happy about it? No.. Did I need it? Yes. Unfortunately, until I was able to get my surgery, this is the way it had to be.
So after a few refills, Grace the Paranoid Pharmacist decides that she wants to be my Dr and told me that I am refilling my meds too soon and she is refusing this refill request. She also implied that I was fraudulently refilling my medication by saying that even though my Dr's office called in a refill approval, she was not going to refill it until she spoke with my Dr directly. So, I guess she just wanted me to be bedridden and suffer and unable to move until she wasn't paranoid anymore. I told my Dr and he was PISSED! ... Who is she to decide what is good for someone else's patient? She has no idea what is going on with me, she never asked.... But yet she feels entitled to deny me my necessary medication? She is out of her mind! What she needs to do is stick to her job which is counting pills, nothing else. Thank God I am having my surgery tomorrow and I will no longer need the pain meds!
In addition to the bizarre paranoia, she is RUDE. When you say ""hello"" she just looks at you and doesn't even crack a 1/4 of a smile. When you say ""thank you"" she doesn't say "" You're welcome"" She just stares at you, it's weird and uncomfortable and I am SO glad that I don't ever have to go back there! She's just a cold hearted devil and how she manages to stay in business is beyond me.
So, if you are sick and you need a local pharmacy, go somewhere else. There is no need to feel worse than you already do. I promise you, if you go there, you WILL be treated like a second class citizen, she did it to me, the squarest person on the planet! and she will do it to you too.
** They are also far more expensive than your standard chain pharmacy
