Rivers Edge

I went here for a quick bite to eart and ended up having a great dinner. Their artichoke dip was fantastic and I really loved their crab cakes. more

I actually liked this place. Sure, it's not some hole-in-the-wall local place that's cool because of its quirkiness or local appeal or whatever - it's kind of big and maybe a has a bit of a chain restaurant feel. Horrors! But the food was good! The waiter was very polite and attentive. I had red beans and rice...excellent. My husband and son had some weird Cajun omelets (jambalaya for hubby, seafood for son). I'm not a big breakfast fan, but they really liked them. And breakfast is served all day, which is what lured the hubby in. more

i had to go back to my receipt to make sure this was indeed the same place i had been to. i noticed that most positive reviews are recent. i did not meticulously studied this but it seems that way to me which leads me to believe that the rivers edge is under new management or something. i can see how the wait could annoy some but you need to understand youre at the heart of new orleans. i was probably very lucky, i dont doubt it. i always am. we got seated immediately. they were really busy but our server came by the table within five minutes with menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. we both got water and no, we werent charged for it. our server came back around and we ordered the crawfish pie and the rivers edge sampler. the crawfish pie was nice and spicy. i would eat two of those. the sampler consisted of chicken gumbo, shrimp creole, jambalaya... i thought everything was good, nothing really blew me away but i would definitely go again if im around, menu looks interesting. yeah, its not the cheapest place but youre in the middle of 'it'. yeah. didnt you see those two silver dudes breakdancing on a bottle crate just around the corner? more

Their prices are comparable to other places around the French Quarter. The location is very good, right on the corner of Jackson Square. While we may not beat a path to get there the next time, we know we can get a good dinner if we happen on it again. more

Their gumbo has always been good and their blackened fish I find quite tasty. I had the Sampler the last time we went and I was STUFFED by the end of it. GREAT bread pudding to top off the meal. more

We had a really good breakfast here. I had the omelette. It was great and piping hot! The service was really good. more

Took a nice Sunday stroll through the French Quarter and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast right on Jackson Square at Rivers Edge. Was seated quickly, and service was exceptional. I had a omelette and my friend who was in the mood for a Po Boy ordered the Shrimp Po Boy, in which he absolutely loved it. Wait staff was very friendly as we had our drinks refilled very quickly and their Bloody Mary's were fantastic. I highly recommend this place... the location, service, and food was all fantastic!!! more

You would be hard pressed to find a local in this restaurant - but the food isn't bad at all. Nice portions and well-seasoned seafood make this a great place. The atmosphere is minimal, but great views of Decatur Street and Jackson Square make up for it. The service can be iffy, but the good food makes up for it. more

I'm surprised by the low ratings from other diners...I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I had crawfish pie and grilled seafood. It was delicious and the service was great. Sat next to an open window and enjoyed watching all the folks on the street and at Jackson Square. Had coffee afterwards at Cafe Du Monde. more

what seems to be the most common case, my friend and I were going to Jackson Square, and had planned on going to Cafe Du Monde, but realized it was busy and figured we'd try this place. We were sat immediately, and received drinks in a timely manner as well. The food was amazing, I ordered a Jambalaya Omelette and "Oh My!" It was like a jambalaya and a creole mixed together. The rice and sausage inside the omelette were perfect within the fold of the egg with shrimp mixed into the eggs themselves, topped with a wonderful creole sauce. My friend ordered the French Toast, and they were basically big pieces of St. Charles Crouton bread. But they were done right with the right texture. more

This is one of our favorite places!! Best omelets ever! We go there every time we are in New Orleans. Great location and amazing food!! more

Gumbo & Crawfish Pie This was the first place I ever had Crawfish pie and it was AWESOME. The gumbo was a little thinner than most however good enough to go back the following day and have another bowl. THE place to have Crawfish pie more

What a great experience. My husband & I had the Jambalaya & the Chicken/Sausage Gumbo.. It was GREAT. (beware- very spicy) . I had their Cherry Blossom drink. This is my absolute favorite drink now. I went back & got it to go a few times. It is mostly Black Cherry Rum with O.J. & grenadine- yum yum yum! Be careful.. it really does have alcohol. I didn't realize it had as much as it did. Hehe. Our server- Jarad.. What an awesome guy. The prices weren't bad. The Jambalaya was about $12 & Gumbo about $8. Mixed drinks were around $7. Don't miss this gem! I wish we had them San Diego! more

My experience at Bay State Ford in South Easton MA was great. Everyone there was friendly, the place was nice and clean, and Chuck Jones was great. He help me get into a brand new car, when i did not think it was possible. Even if it took me an hour and half to get there I would come back to Bay State Ford in South Easton Ma for another car, and I will send anyone who is looking as well. more

Well, I guess we're the only two people who like this place, according to the reviews. We wanted gumbo, and gumbo we got! It was spicy just like we like it. Service was fast and good. more

We ate breakfast here two different mornings during our visit to New Orleans.  Really good food when you want a little more than just a Cafe du Monde beignet.  The staff was friendly and the food was hardy and very good. more
