I went to my first Riverbend Concert last night - Coldplay. While the band was awesome as always, the acoustics of the lawn are awful. Chris Martin made up for it by coming out to the center lawn stage to sing to us though. :) I am 5'3"" tall and the lower I went, the less I could see of the stage. The design of the shelter is horridly awful. It is pretty sad that you can pay a fortune for tickets (52 bucks for LAWN seats) and not even be able to really see the artist because of the way the building is made. I would recommend not spending the money on a lawn seat, and instead just upping your total cost to get inside. It had to have been better there. Oh and if it recently rained, or you think it is going to rain, bring a trash bag or tarp to lay your blanket on, the ground was soaked last night for us!
Overall I give this venue a 1 star for poor acoustics and seating.
Pros: The bands they somehow manage to attract
Cons: River stench, acoustics, inability to see, soaking wet lawn
