Last year I arranged a large group - my entire family of about 13 - to celebrate Mothers Day at the River Crab for its famous Mothers Day brunch. I worked with the nice lady on the phone to arrange the reservations. This is were the pleasure ended. Apparently the core of the problem was we had a 02:00PM reservation and the lunch buffet ended at 03:00PM. Bear in mind - NO ONE informed me that was the case. Consequently, the food was sparse, cold and not being refilled. What we got was the old food left over that was going to be thrown out anyway. From a service standpoint, our waitress was rushing us from the start - it was apparent we were her last table and she wanted us gone by 03:00PM. In fact, she did not even want to take a drink order; just get us up to the buffett. Overall, we rarely saw our waitress and hardly had the opportunity to get any service including more drinks, wine, etc. To top things off - and get ready for this - the River Crab staff started to clean up the buffett right at 03:00PM which included running a VACUUM CLEANER and slamming dishes, chaffers, breaking down tables, etc. The 13 of us were trying to finish eating, get some dessert, find some coffee and open some gifts for Mothers Day - all during the clean up period. It was a terrible and embarrassing experience. Moreover, we spent well over $300 dollars for all this and were only there for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. I complained on there web site and all I got back was a letter from corporate - not even a $5 off your next meal.
