THIS PLACE DISCRIMINATES AGAINST THE DISABLED!!! I couldn't believe how I was treated by this establishment. I was basically refused service because I'm disabled.I was not allowed to enter the building because of their so called dress code. even though I used to go into this place wearing a chef uniform after working all night covered in food. for some reason gym shorts were not allowed now. these are the clothes I wear because of my disability, I'm and above the elbow amputee which makes it hard for me to wear regular shorts so I wear gym shorts. no exceptions could be made I was refused service and told to go away. I was harassed by the manager and treated horribly I will never be going back into this establishment. if you care about people that are disabled I would suggest that you not support this business ever. more

Dumb Bouncers 7/4/2011

I am a resident of jacksonville and have lived at the beaches off and on. Ive been to this place numerous times before never really had a problem but the place was always crowded beyond belief so i stopped going there and maybe went there a handful of times in the past 3 to 4 years..i went there for a friends birthday to buy some shots for her and get out of there. the problem arose when i was carded at the door and the bouncer looked at it and handed it to the barback. i said to him im 27 years old i hope you dont think thats a fake id. he then responded by saying that i looked alittle intoxicated. i just got off work an hour before and had 1 beer. i then told him to get an officer over here and ill ask him to perform a field sobriety test or use a breathalyzer.. he just ignored me. barback dude handed me my id back and i left.. DONT GO THERE EVER...it takes 20 mins to get a drink in there anyways more

Black people, watch out 11/7/2009

First time visitor, Went with some friends and business associates to the beach to relax and socialize. There was a black female at the bar who was charged more than she was supposed to. I watched her try to get the waitress' attention in vain. From where I was standing, all she wanted to do was get this corrected. After a few minutes with no response, she said she was not going to tip her and on the receipt, she wrote ""rude bitch"" and left. I was able to buy some drinks from another waiter and as I walked over to my group with all these drinks in hand, a white male approached me and asked me to step outside with him. At first, I thought he was trying to talk to me and I ignored him but then he could not leave and insisted I go with him. I said I was not going unless he was or had a police officer with him. He left and came back with an officer within minutes and I was ungracefully thrown out of the club without cause. When I insisted I was not leaving before being told what I did, they said I was rude and needed to go before I found myself in jail. I ended up talking to 5 white police officers and two managers who stopped and listened to me but didn't to anything at all. They told me to leave or I would be arrested. I eventually saw another black community officer and explained what had happened and he tried to talk to management but was told to keep out of it and they had a right to deny service to anyone. As a business establishment, i respect their right to refuse service but they don't have the right to treat people so poorly. The black female came outside and when she realized what was going on, she walked over to management and attempted to explain what happened but they told her they didn't have time for this. The manager walked over to me and said, "" your kind is not welcome here so why don't you just go back where you came from"". One may argue that he meant the kind of people who cause trouble but no one one would blame me if i thought by ""kind"" he meant black people. I was not allowed to have the drinks I had paid and nor was I refunded the money I spent. I am very upset and want to share this experience with others because ignorance like this is what keeps America segregated. I mean the only reason I was thrown out was not because I was drunk, disorderly, fighting or anything but simply because I was black. Confusing me with someone else is understandable but treating someone so inhumanly after the situation has been corrected is not acceptable, Didn't realize you could be thrown out for being rude, I mean, most people would have been thrown out for that reason so why was I singled out and kicked out? Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Poor service, treated differently if you are black, more

Avoid Friday and Saturday nights 10/14/2007

During the daytime it is completely empty. On Friday and Saturday night, all hell breaks loose. I have seen more fights with bouncers here then anywhere else I have been. Great place to go and watch the bouncers and cops beat people up. Not for me though. Pros: can't really think of one Cons: everything? more

UGH! 8/31/2007

If you like to hang out with pimply faced under aged kids and order overpriced fruity drinks...the Ritz is the place for you. Gross. Pros: Pediphile heaven Cons: are you kiffing? more

worste place, bad people, bad cops 2/20/2007

Be very careful going to this bar. The bouncer staff is very aggressive, and so are the cops that are PAID to patrol the parking lot. They are PAID, and armed with tasers and revolvers. PEOPLE ARE BEING SHOT WITH TASERS REGULARLY outside of this bar. I have seen it several times and almost everytime it was not justified! and the situation only escalated from a very AGGRESSIVE bouncer crew. Cons: AGGRESSIVE bouncers who think they are all cage fighters. more

Avoid if possible. Bouncers are given authority and abuse it. 8/3/2006

I used to like this place until they started harrassing me because I look younger than everyone else. The bartenders are rude to you if you're are not a regular or female. No matter if you did anything wrong they will always have a reason to throw you out. Most of the crowd is the type that thinks they own Jax beach and are they best at everything. There are much better places to go on the beach for good drink specials and great crowd. By far the worst establishment in Jax beach when it comes to customer satisfaction. Pros: Drink specials Cons: Sevice, Music, Crowded more
