Let me start by saying that I think ripping services are well worth the money if they work. If I can pay someone $200-300 (pick your price point and service) to put my 200 or so CDs on my hard drive with album labels, various compression formats, etc. I think that would be fantastic. It's well worth it to me.
Ripstyles completely failed to live up to its advertised service to do it.
- The web site advertised 5-10 business days from receipt to return an average order. 5 weeks later I was annoyed to be still trading email with them to find out when my order would ship.
- My original order had explicit instructions to return ship the CDs to a new address since I moved from the pickup address. It was ignored, and my 200+ CDs shipped back to a condo building 500 miles away from where I live. Getting this straightened out and wondering where a $2000 collection might disappear was a headache
- 24 of the CDs were returned as 'unreadable' even though they read in every computer drive and dedicated CD/DVD player I have.
- The NIB hard drive I shipped with the CDs was returned with a virus on it.
Really, ripstyles? How can all this happens in one order?
If you want your CDs ripped, ask someone else to do it, not Ripstyles.
