This restaurant came highly recommended from a friend. My friends and I invited our moms and grandmas to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. Also, one of the grandmas of the group just got through battling breast cancer for the second time and this was her first time out.\r
\r
Unfortunately, the service was horrible but the actions and unprofessionalism of the assistant manager was atrocious.\r
\r
Let me elaborate on what was the WORST service have ever experienced:\r
\r
1. Of 12 of us, 10 ordered off a pre-fixe 3-course menu, 1 did not order, and 1 ordered off the menu for a less expensive option. The bill we received charged us the pre-fixe price for all 12! In addition, they charged us an additional fee for the desserts they brought out for the birthday girl--they were part of the pre-fixe menu and yet they would not take the charge off.\r
\r
2. The waiter never asked us what soup/salad/dessert we would like (for those ordering off the pre-fixe menu). We had to remind him and still, he got 1/2 the orders wrong.\r
\r
3. I ordered gnocchi and it came out raw in the middle. The waiter insisted it was a cheese-filling. I've had gnocchi at several other restaurants and have never heard of this. Turns out it was RAW!! (No cheese filling) And yes, I was still charged the pre-fixe price although I had specifically asked for this a-la-carte. In all fairness, once the desserts arrived, so did my new cooked order of gnocchi. It was fair and the pink sauce did not taste fresh or homemade. If you want the best gnocchi ever, go to Il Forno or Perricones!\r

4. When the waiter refused to take off the charge for the 2 desserts mentioned in #1, I asked for the manager. She was polite and explained we were given the "full size" portion which is not included in the pre-fixe. After we explained that we never ordered this, nor was this explained to us, she understood and took it off the bill for us. As she walked away, a male waiter approached our table and in a very machismo manner, scolded us! Very politely, I tapped him on the arm and said with all due respect, this was not his concern as we have already resolved this with the manager-- and our waiter. He became very irate and dramatic and accused me of poking him and claimed he is the assistant-manager and this was very much his concern. Long story short, this jerk RUINED what was supposed to be a special night. His disrespect towards us --and especially the elderly women at the table-- was DISGUSTING! He literally yelled at us in very broken english that came across extremely offensive and degrading. As we were leaving, he did not make way for our grandmas. Instead, he walked briskly through them without saying 'excuse me' and almost knocked one of them down (she walks with a cane). Again, as I write this, I am completely APPALLED by this man's behavior and the fact that the restaurant staff allows this!\r
\r
By far, the WORST, MOST HORRIFIC and DISGUSTING service we've ever received at any restaurant--regardless of rating.\r
\r
The food was mediocre. We ordered the empanadas which were probably the best thing on the menu. For those of us that had the steak or pork chops, the meat was over cooked and tough. The desserts were fair. Some of us had the dulce de leche crepes which were really good but repulsively sweet & rich so it may not be for everyone. \r
\r
The price you pay for the service is not worth the visit for the food. Obviously this restaurant does not understand or value that dining is an experience-- from service to food-- it's not just about the food. \r

If you want a good Argentine restaurant, go to Graziano's.
