Look No Further! 9/29/2010

Rikke is the 'dog whisperer'. I have a brand new puppy, who came from a background that has made her pretty much uncontrollable and Rikke came 3 days later to my house, and within an hour and 30 min. had this puppy doing tricks, games, simple manners, and most importantly spoke with me about understanding my dog, an what I am dealing with as well. She is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable on dogs, and is so patient, and understanding. She was so good that I hired her for several more sessions on the first day ! more

Wonderful working and training w/ Rikke 6/7/2009

I worked with Rikke for a year and I learned more about training dogs and dog behavior from her than anybody else. Rikke is capable of training any animal - believe me, I know because I trained marine mammals and polar bears at the Central Park Zoo for 4 years and she has as much training knowledge as anybody I have ever met. I'm convinced Rikke will be able to help you manage or solve any behavior issues you have with your dog. Pros: Great trainer, tons of dog knowledge more

Don't look any further for a trainer 5/19/2009

Rikke is a wonderful trainer, she's outgoing, friendly and very animal oriented. Her methods are positive re enforcement and nothing harsh. Rikke has been a wonderful asset for Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue and has worked with several of our Danes, some in their foster homes and others in their new adoptive homes . Any rescue dog can have problems but when its a Dane you're talking about a dog that averages anywhere from 125 to 175 lbs, this isn't a breed that you're going to force to do something. Rikke's will show you by using positive methods that you can achieve the same results and learn more about why your dog is behaving as he does. I've recommended Rikke to several people that needed help with their dogs and everyone has been happy with the results. Pros: Professional-reliable ---postive training nothing harsh more

Helped me realize my dogs not abnormal! :) 5/19/2009

My 1 year old boxer had never went to the bathroom on a walk EVER. The next day after our consultation with Rikke, she went the next day!!! She gave me many great techniques that have helped my dog with boredom issues while I am away at work, instead of my puppy eating my house up! Recommended highly Pros: Good with dogs, knows them well, has great techniques Cons: a lil pricy more

Lucky to had found the best in the City 5/14/2009

I had just moved to NYC 2.5 years ago from CA.? I brought my 2 yr old adopted Cocker Spaniel with me.? He had no proper training, he had seperation anxiety, was not potty trained, was very fearful of all the noises in a big city, took the lead when walking on a leash, ...no training.? You get the point. I called a dog service company and they sent me Rikke to my apt in the Financial District. She was on time, extremely dog friendly.? And most IMPORTANTLY, people friendly.? LOL.? She was extremely knowledgeable about dog breeds and opened my eyes to genetically why my dog does what he does, but how to train him out of those habits instilled in him.? We went over my dogs issues.? She did training exercises with my dog and he responded in ways I thought my dog was never capable of.? She never yelled at my dog or never did anything to scare him Everything was very positive and it made my dog want to respond! Then she showed me how to work the magic.? By following Rikke's technique I saw improvement everyday with my dog.? We continued with private sessions every week until we touched upon all the issues my dog had.? I am a nurse and the money was well spent and worth every penny. I now have a dog I love and can live with. I recommend RIkke to all my friends with new puppies, adopted dogs, or dogs with issues that have never been addressed. Pros: Positive dog training, professional, dog/people friendly Cons: Nothing I can think of more

Great Dog Trainer 5/14/2009

Rikke helped me in my seemingly endless search for a dog. She always answered my e-mails promptly and I knew when I first met her that she was dependable and insightful. Rikke really knows dogs, and she really knows how to match the right dog with the right family (in my case). She has integrity and communicates her messages (to dogs and to humans) effectively. I highly recommend Rikke. Pros: Rikke tells you like it is... more

Really Fantastic Trainer 5/14/2009

Rikke is great. She has an upbeat personality and uses the positive reward system to train. We have a staffie puppie and were a little nervous about her and our 2 small boys. Rikke showed us the importance of management along with teaching the dog commands. It really saved our family. Our puppy now knows several commands and is crate trained and well on the way to being housebroken. As with any training, you must practice with you dog everyday, but it is worth it. If you are having any behavioral issues with your dog, I highly recommend a few sessions with Rikke. You'll feel alot better about your dog afterward. Pros: Extremely positive, has a real love of dogs Cons: My dog likes her better than me! :) more
