Calzones, Pizza, Artichokes, Brownkies... 5/5/2008

The Rattler is now under new ownership and is now called RICOCHET. Great food and SERVICE with smiles and laughs! Freshly baked calzones, pizza, steamed artichokes stuffed with quinoa salad, and pastries fill the shop with an inviting aroma. They also have juicing available! The carrot, ginger, and beet juice was delicious! Not only is it the best coffee in the morongo basin, there is wine, cheese, and vintage clothing and boots.\r \r Fun shop worth discovering on your next trip to Joshua Tree. Pros: great service and food Cons: limited seating more

Dean & DeLuca in the Desert 11/12/2006

If anyone doubts the existence of Joshua Tree's boho-yuppie-artist population, they only need to drop into Rattler. Fronting Highway 62 and very close to the entrance to J.T. national park, Rattler offers a sophisticated array of cold salads, snacks, sandwiches, wine and baked goodies suitable for a gourmet picnic in the park. No tables for dining on the premises, but the friendly staff will cheerfully pack your lunch with everything you'll need for a picnic amongst the gorgeous scenery of the park. Be sure to buy some of their freshly-baked scones -- they're yummy. Pros: Gourmet goodies for sophisticated tastes, friendly service, convenient to park Cons: A little on the pricier side, No on-site dining tables more
