I normally don’t write reviews, but my experience with Rick’s Tire & Auto Service was so appalling that I feel a responsibility to warn others. What happened to me should not happen to anyone else.
This nightmare began in May 2024 when I brought my car in for an oil leak repair. I paid around $1,600. When I got my car back, the timing was off, and it even cut off on me at a car wash. I immediately returned the car, and they told me the drive belt had shredded. They replaced it and charged me.
However, the timing issue persisted, and my car broke down AGAIN. Another mechanic inspected it and informed me that the original oil leak—what I paid $1,600 to fix—was still present. The leaking oil was causing the drive belt to shred.
When I confronted Rick’s Tire & Auto Service, the new manager, Dante, demanded proof. I got a diagnostic report from Grand Prairie Ford, confirming the unresolved leak. After Dante consulted his leadership, they offered to fix my car one last time and reimburse me for the Ford diagnostic fee. I reluctantly agreed.
They kept my car for THREE WEEKS. When I finally got it back, the oil leak was fixed, but now I needed a new engine, my battery was completely dead, my car was out of fuel, and the interior was filthy. The shop couldn't explain the battery issue, and they had the audacity to return my car in such a state.
Attempting to drive it home, my car died in the middle of an intersection. This was the same car I had owned for 11 years without major issues. Dante refused to pay for a tow truck, made me wait over an hour for assistance, and insisted he was going “above and beyond.” To top it off, they didn’t even reimburse me for the diagnostic fee as promised.
Every time I brought my car here, it came back in worse condition. They broke the lid on my dashboard compartment, left me stranded, and ultimately destroyed a car I had driven for over a decade.
I have never felt so frustrated, disrespected, and disappointed by a business in my life.
