This East Lansing basement bar is no place a 30+ year old would want to frequent. The place is dimly lit, dirty, loud, overcrowded and generally has a line on weekends. I believe they also charge cover on certain nights. Parking is limited and in public pay lots only. The crowd consists of college students... most of which are there to accomplish the goal of getting hammered beyond belief. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable, cozy or clean bar, steer clear of this place. Pros: College bar in a college town Cons: Dirty, poor parking, cover charge, basement bar, crowded more

Another local hole 6/22/2005

You will find long lines of people at Ricks, yet it is another lackluster bar that East Lansing is home to. The people that go to Ricks are generally attractive young college students and seem to have a good time. Overall, this joint like many other East Lansing bars is overrated, but a staple for the MSU student. Pros: Attractive people, Cheap drinks, Good crowds Cons: Atmosphere, Parking, Lines more

don't bother anymore 2/9/2005

Used to be cool until the city decided to hate fun about 10 years ago. more

Typical college scene 7/12/2002

Basement bar, like many, with a small dance floor and the possibility to play pool. The DJ's or bands are usually pretty decent and the drinks are decent. The place is large enough that the crowd is some-what diverse. The dress is anything from jeans to bar-dress, not being too fancy. Watch out during the school year as lines tend to be quite long Thurs-Sat, but the same can be said for most places in EL during the same time. more
