Richard's Import Store

We have used Richards import auto repair for the past three years for our Volvo XC 70. We have had a problem at the local Volvo dealership of over pricing. They also had a had a habit of diagnosing problems that sometimes do not exist. Because of the fantastic service and very fair prices Richard's charge, we have decided to keep our Volvo instead of trading it for a new one. I would recommend Richards above any repair shop in North Central Fla. more

I was originally associated with Richard & his sons when I purchased a used V70 wagon for my parents. I wanted the vehicle to be in the best mechanical condition before giving it to my elder parents. It was as good as new. Now that my son is getting ready to turn 16, I have purchased another Volvo for his first car. I did this for two reasons; (1) Volvos are highly rated vehicles for safety & reliability and (2) because I trust Richard & his sons. I am pleased to entrust my sons safety & his vehicles reliability to them. Everyone should be so fortunate, or drive a Volvo so they can be. more

I was lucky to find Richard after moving to Gainesville in 2004. No one else has touched my volvo since. Friendly, honest, and very affordable. I have never left the lot thinking otherwise. Like a previous comment, I too sometimes feel as if I am the one ripping them off.\r \r Although they have become considerably busier since the Volvo Dealer left Gainesville, it's still the only place I will go. we have had Richard and his sons take care of our Volvo for years. They are honest. They are priced in a way that I feel guilty sometimes knowing how much they worked on it. If everyone were as honest and did as good a job as these guys the world would be a better place. Take your volvo there and nowhere else more

Richard and his sons are the very best at what they do. I was fortunate enough to live in FL for a long time and have them work on my Volvo. They never steered me wrong and it was always done right and at a very fair price. I now live in Philadelphia and have not been able to find another Richard. My new Volvo gets serviced at the dealer and it is very expensive. I really miss Richard. more

Best and most honest people I have delt with Another repairman told me needed a abs box and a brake booster at a cost of $2,000.00 . Had just had abs box rebuilt and when Richards checked it the svcman who reinstalled the box did not have it plugged in right. Richards redid it and would not charge for the time The brake booster just needed the boot redone. No charge Any one have a foreign car to be worked on should check with these people first. I had to drive 90 miles roundtrip but I assure no one will touch my Volvo again but Richards. more

The fuel filler door on my car fell off, and to repair it, they only charged me for the little part, instead of adding on additional service charges since it would only be a few minutes. There was a little wait, but only because he explains to each customer what went wrong and how it happened and how to avoid it happening again. Excellent service and the only place i take my car when im in Gainesville. PROS: Very informative and amazing service CONS: Had to wait a little while before being acknowledged more

We have used Richard's for years and I always trust them with our vehicles. They are not just good at what they do (imports, mines a Volvo), but they are friendly as well. This place has honest workers that do not try to cheat you out of your money! You can trust that the work is needed and the job will be done right. They do alot of business, so if you need say, air conditioner repair, dont wait until summer to have it done! You will find they are popular and you will have a bit of wait on your hands! You can feel good sending your car here and you will save money over taking your car to the local dealerships who are overpriced and usually backed up anyway! Highly recommended.
