I've been sailing, designing, and building boats all my life. Included has been the enjoyment of the Minto (one remains in the family). One of my current projects involves working with local builders to be certain that the traditional rowing dinghies remain available in this age of "deflatables" with motors as the preferred tender. Even though four of my "plugs" are in production with another builder, I can testify to the quality of construction and functionality of the Rich Passage Minto. The Minto is offered beautifully finished and fully found and is exactly what is needed to preserve this fine example of an able tender. Once you have rowed one you won't worry about an outboard and sailing is great fun, too. more

Great Value and Craftsmanship 3/19/2006

My family has owned a Minto for twenty-six years. It is a great little rowboat and doubles as a wonderful small sailboat. I saw the Minto made by Rich Passage Boats at the Seattle Boat Show. It is an unbelievable value and the craftsmanship is incredible. I would highly recommend this boat for anyone who is in the market for a fun and durable dinghy. If I remember correctly-Rich Passage Boats sells both new and refurbished Mintos. more

Solid dinghy 2/22/2006

I have a Minto dinghy that is over 30 years old. It has survived an inordinate amount of abuse, dragging across rocks, etc. and it keeps on ticking. Not only do Mintos row well, but they sail well, too. I have a custom large-roach, fully-battened sail for my Minto from Lidgard sailmakers, that works great. The Minto is the standard against which other dinghies are judged. more
