Cool old theatre 11/6/2005

This place is a rare find - it's so classic like the old days. They feature more of the indie movies and on Saturdays at midnight they show Rocky Horror Picture Show and other strange old movies from the 80's. It's a great place to people watch - especially on Saturday night. Parking is a challenge because it's street only - there's a little bit in the back. Also the Ai Restaurant is a few doors down so this would be a great dinner & a movie date night idea. more

Classic old theater 8/12/2005

The Rialto has become a fixture of South Pasadena's history and heritage. Located on Fair Oaks Avenue, they often show independent movies or movies that are somewhat old. On Friday nights ( i think) they show the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Lots of people come out, some even in costume. The price for a ticket is acceptable, but the some of the seats are broken, so make sure you check before you sit down. more

great midnight movies 8/5/2005

This place is fantastic. Every Saturday night they show a midnight movie. I saw the Goonies here a year ago and it was a great experience. The crowd really gets into the movies, and yells at the screen and such if the movie is one that demands it. They also show limited release films here as well. If it's a really small film, odds are you can find here. The only problem is that they only have one screen...so not too much to choose from. The area is great...it's right in downtown South Pasadena. I can't recommend checking out the Rialto enough. Check out one of their midnight showings, it's a fun experience. more
