My first pedicure experience at Rescue was just wonderful. Several months ago, I thought I'd try a facial since they got good press. It wasn't the best , it was OK. I purchase...

Spoil me package is the best! 11/25/2006

My boyfriend sent me here to be rescued from work and school and it is by far the best massage I have ever received. (Alexander). I think it was the little extras, I got a mini exfoliating lotion on my feet and then he worked on getting all the knots out in my shoulders and upper back, the oil was warm and he wiped the excess oil off afterwards with nice hot towels. I also got a unique cookie and candy snack afterwards while waiting for my facial. I had my facial with Michelle Martin and it was very relaxing, my skin is ultra sensitive but her extractions didn't really hurt which is great. I didn't feel pressure to buy any products but she did make one recommendation and I agreed so I bought some exfoliating pads for my face. The only thing that made me uncomfortable were the women going in and out of the dressing room without closing the door while I was getting dressed and putting my make up on...there wasn't a separate room to change in only a screen to change behind. I am already thinking about my next appointment and what I'm going to get. Also, I've been to a lot of salons where the aesthetician and massage therapist would not stop talking but this was amazing, they were friendly but not overly talkative so that I could just relax and drift away from the bustling city. I can't wait to go back.!! Pros: wonderful staff; even staff who aren't working on you were pleasant Cons: parking, dressing rooms not really "private" more

CAN'T STOP RAVING ABOUT MY SERVICES. GO TO ERICA 10/17/2006

FROM THE MOMENT OF WALKING IN AND BEING APPROACHED TILL I LEFT EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT.. BEAUTIFUL ATMOSPERE, SMELLS DELICIOUS, UNIQUE SNACKS AND DRINKS...MY FACILIST ERICA COULDN'T HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB: FROM MASSAGE TO SCENTS TO TIGHTENING MY SKIN AND WAXING, I LEFT HER ROOM FEELING YOUNGER AND LIKE A NEW PERSON... CANT WAIT TO GO BACK more

nice spa and quiet 10/16/2006

Great place for waxing.. Erica's technique is skillful and artful.. never had better brows and always get complements on them... more

best makeup artist 10/16/2006

Nives Riddles is the best! I was expecting perfection for my wedding day makeup and thanks to Nives, with her deliberate and patient touch, I never felt (or looked) prettier. I am not a makeup person so having an amazing makeup artist was essential. The foundation was flawless (as was my spotty complexion!) and the makeup looked great all day, long into the night. Plus, looked amazing in pictures. Nives is kind, calm, and a gifted makeup artist. more

Best eyebrow waxing!! 8/30/2006

Michelle Martin is working in Philly again and I couldn't be more excited about it. She is truly gifted in the art of eyebrow shaping. more

Best Facial in Philly-Linda 8/17/2006

I was laying on the facial bed thinking this esthetician is unreal I've never had such a great facial. Later as I was changing I saw this little award in the corner of the room from Style Magazine for Philly's Best Facial. Linda was the recipient. She's low key and lets her work do the talking. My skin never looked so radiant! The spa should be bragging about her but I will. I've told all my friends! Pros: linda has a very soothing personality Cons: an abrasive loud desk manager more

Erica is the best 8/3/2006

This is a superior spa. The staff is highly trained and the services are all doen to perfection. Unlike other places in downtown,Rescue leaves you feeling refreshed and exhilerated, not scammed! more

Good Facials 6/29/2006

If you want a true urban spa -- this is it. You are not asked to change in a dressing area and don't have a chance to use true spa luxuries, like steam, sauna, dip pools, etc., but you're in on time, out on time and you get great results. I would have expected for my face to be red after the extractions, but Erica did a good job without making me want to hide at home for a day afterward. The facials are not inexpensive ($90 for a 60-min treatment) but I will definitely go back. Pros: Service, Results Cons: Price more

very pleased clients 5/25/2006

I have been to rescue spa many times and brought along some of my girlfriends.. Well they can't stop talking about how wonderful their experience has been.. each technician was equally fantastic... We have been all over the world to different spas and Rescue equals up.. very happy and will be back.. Don't miss out on Michele's massages, Monika's manicures, and Erica's facials.. Pass the word on Philadelphia this spa is special... more

Movie Star for a Day 5/23/2006

I'm a spa lover and my job requires that I travel frequently between coasts. I had the pleasure to visit this spa and booked both a body wrap and facial. I had Linda who performed both services with such care that I truly felt she mistook me for some celebrity. The service was impeccable and both were so soothing I considered just going back to my hotel and getting a good nights sleep even though it was only 3p.m. when we finished. The cost was comparable to most high end spas but when I consider the service rendered I would have happily paid more. PROS: Educated me thoroughly about products but no pressure to buy CONS: she is booked so don't call "on the fly" for an appointment more

Never Write Reviews But... 5/21/2006

It was with great interest that I read the other reviews for this spa. As a former New Yorker who now lives on the square I have been to this spa many times for services. I have tried everyone and will NOT go to anyone but Donna or Linda for my facials, Andre for massage and Carina for nails. They are highly experienced and CONSISTENTLY excellent. I cannot say the same for the others. They just do not have the experience and it shows in many ways. Pros: experience, technique, product line more

Top Notch Spa 5/18/2006

I have had the perfect spa experience at Rescue twice now. The elevator doors open up to a beautiful space, the spa director (Lauren) immediately greets you by name and makes you feel at home. Monika gives a terrific manicure Alexander got knots out of my back that I didnt even know where there. Rescue feels like your on vacation without leaving Rittenhouse. Pros: atmosphere, personal attention more

I have been rescued...... 5/17/2006

I never believed in practice what you preach until I came across Resuce Spa and their esthician, Erica.. She knows her stuff from flax seed oil, acai an incredible antioxidant for the skin to salmon egg and rose oil ... It feels amazing as she is explaning each step and telling me how my skin is going to benefit from it...She is in her thirties and has the most beautiful glowing skin- so when she speaks I'm defintely listening and advise everyone else too. Cons: loud dog more

Best Medical Facial I have found in Philly 5/15/2006

Donna gives a very intense yet effective facial for those who have congested skin. The products have been amazing and I have been able to avoid a dermatologist and photosensitive medicine for the past 6 months. If you have the cash (upwards of $120) I highly recommend it. Pros: Experience, Results Cons: Price, Language Barrier, Facial Room is cold. more

about time philly has a decent spa 5/10/2006

The elevator doors open up to this classy very european styled space.. The smells make you feel you're rolling around in flower petals... The staff is extremely friendly but a little unorganized .. It's nice to feel you're not in a typical corporate company... My facialist was extremely patient, knowledgeable and makes skin and eyebrows look amazing...I strongly recommend this hideaway...Must try services with Carina(nails) and Erica(facials) more

Expensive! 5/9/2006

Perhaps, as a neighbor to this spa, I would go often -- but $75 to have self-tanner rubbed on while you're standing naked in a cold, bright room? I can do this at home -better- and for a lot less money! I am hesitant to return to see what other treartments are overpriced. more

Best Kept Secret 4/16/2006

I recently went to Rescue with my sister and friend. The best kept secret is Linda and Corina-skin & nails respectively. Both are brilliant at what they do and lovely people. My sister went to the owner who should have been good but wasn't and has a little dog thats as mean as she is. Stick with Linda and Corina. Cons: nasty dog that nips more

best facial in town 3/9/2006

This spa is the best place to have a facial. The service is friendly, not overwhelming, and very professional. I have gone through more than a few bad facials and can tell you that this place is the best. I will definitely be back for mani/pedi and massages. The environment is soothing and the product selection alone is worth a visit. more

Very Disappointed 2/16/2006

I learned of this new Philadelphia establishment from the Philadelphia Style Magazine. Corinna was named best of 2005 for manicures and pedicures. She is wonderful. My problem is with the owner and the receptionist. They have a major problem with their scheduling. They never have your services correct for the day that your appointment in the book. They did not try to accomodate me in any form. TThe receptionist was very incompetent. The owner is extremely rude. She told me to go to another spa to have my services. And that I should have called them back to confirm my appointment when they called me and were not specific about my servies that they repeated back to me the day the appointment was made. Very unprofessional. I will not be back. I hope Corinna will find another shop that is worthy of her. Pros: clean, nice atmosphere Cons: no parking, no accomodations more
